  • Charming house in a great location
    5 of 5

We had a wonderful vacation in this charming village home. The village itself is in a lovely location on the edge of the lake, complete with a Romanesque-style church, an 18th Century oil mill and a Grande Fontaine . There are bars/restaurants in the village, and a good selection of shops and a market nearby in Aups. There is a small beach and water sports rentals are possible in the summer. There are plenty of hiking trails nearby, and GR99 passes through the village. Les Gorges du Verdon are also nearby. The house itself is charming. Very nicely decorated with lovely decorative touches throughout. The terrace on the top floor is a great place to relax at the end of the day and watch the setting sun. All the bedrooms are a very good size. The lounge also has plenty of comfortable seating as well as a good variety of entertainment options. The kitchen has everything you could need to cater for the whole family. There is plenty of parking throughout the village. You can drive up to the front door to drop off or pick up heavy items, though you really won't have to walk very far. We wish we had been able to stay for longer, the house, the village, the area were just right for a perfect break. Celine and her family were wonderful hosts, answering all our questions and coming up with useful suggestions for things we could do, we hope to be able to return very soon.

  • Lovely Sunny Week

The house is in a great spot, the view from the terrace and the pool area out over the lake are great. The rooms were nice and clean. Overall we had a great week in a character property. Couple of things to note, we have booked a number of villas before and this is the first time that the bedding and towels is charged as a extra so bear this in mind when booking, especially when you then have to make the beds yourself on arrival. A number of times during our stay the smell of sewage was such that you needed to keep certain windows closed. Also, the pool was only cleaned on the Sunday, the day after our arrival, but during the week there was an accumulation of dead insects/spiders in the bottom of the pool which meant that by the last day one of our kids refused to go in the pool. The village is a short drive to get the bread in the morning, did walk there the first day but drove every other day. Hired an electric boat on the lake one day and also kayak and paddle boards another day which was great. All in all, we had a great week and we would recommend the house for a family stay.
