Fantastic family holiday

5 of 5
Beautiful property in a perfect setting. The gite is immaculately presented and Tony and Jeanette had thought of everything to make our stay as easy and pleasurable as possible with a three year old and a dog. The garden and grounds are beautiful. There is so much to do on site you need never leave...boule, table tennis, children's play equipment, swimming pool, and you can even order a wonderful home-cooked meal courtesy of Jeanette (which we would certainly recommend). Out and about we found plenty to do. Nearby there are beaches, swimming lakes, chateaus, and pretty villages and towns with nice places to eat. We would unreservedly recommend a holiday here.

Wonderful!

We were contemplating squatters rights at the end of our stay! We travel a lot in France and have stayed in many places - this was one of our favourites. Within easy reach of the A10 but feels like you are in the middle of nowhere, it felt accessible but remote at the same time. While we enjoyed lovely quiet days by the pool, we were able to go the Côte Sauvage, Bordeaux, Saintes amphitheatre, markets - and the huge thermal water park/spa just 20 minutes away in Jonzac was fantastic fun for the family too (especially in cooler weather). Steve and Lorraine were so welcoming, we never felt as if we made too much noise (we have 12 & 13 year old boys) or imposed on their beautiful garden. The heated pool was fabulous - a godsend as it was a bit cool. The actual gîte was very well equipped, beautifully decorated, beds were comfortable and it was spotless. We would return in a heartbeat. Thanks Steve and Lorraine for wonderful memories.
