Lovely, spacious and a relaxing environment

5 of 5
The accommodation was perfect for our family with young children. The kitchen was well equipped and the lounge area more than comfortable enough for the 5 of us. The rear of the property opened up to a cosy patio leading to am amazing and spacious shared garden which was perfect for the kids to run and burn up their supressed energy from a long car journey. The 2 pools were great fun and the grounds had lots of other outdoor toys and games for them to enjoy. What made our short stay special were our hosts, Gary and Jenny. In advance of our stay they asked if we wanted some kitchen essentials and it was such a comfort to see a bottle of fresh full cream milk for our toddler, and a lovely table wine to hep us relax after the long ferry journey and drive. They are such welcoming and genuine people that makes me want to return or even find an excuse to pass by again. Their advice on what to visit locally for food, sight seeing or general ambience was excellent. I'd recommend calling in here for a short transit stop for a couple of days, or even a full week or more to really relax and explore the area. The accommodation would also be great for large parties or multiple families that want a place to get together and rent multiple properties and have a free run of the extensive grounds and facilities. The property was secure, very well kept and quiet enough for us to feel comfortable about letting our 9 & 7 year old to go out and play without question. Definitely going back again if only to see Gary and Jenny and have a pizza at the Forno.

Rural but not remote.

5 of 5
A fantastic property in a great location with superb hosts in Pascal and Huguette ??!!....sorry but you did acknowledge that it was an unusual name!! We stumbled upon this beauty of a holiday destination by chance and feel so lucky that we did. There were only the two of us but the property caters for at least another 2 adults and a baby/toddler. Extremely spacious and well equipped with the added bonus of seeing wild deer roaming in the extensive garden. Cannot fault anything about this cottage but do make sure that you get Pascal's WiFi password then be prepared to stand in the garden or on the decking for your reception! But who needs internet connections when the aim is to get away from it all. Lots of lovely minor French roads to get about as well as major highways to access the larger towns/cities like Nantes (Les Machines, Cathedral, Chateau and much more) and Angers (Chateau and old town buildings and much more). We found satnav a must for getting about but this was our first driving visit to France so others may be more able. Too many places to mention including the above but the slightly larger towns are all well equipped with supermarkets and fuel stations as well as churches, chateaux by the bucket load and a slower pace of life. Rural walks from the doorstep or further afield. Remember that most places will be shut from about 12.30-14.30 or beyond so plan ahead. No hesitation whatsoever in recommending a stay here. Merci Beaucoup P and H
