Great village location

5 of 5
We had a lovely stay in this comfortable house, which is very conveniently situated on the edge of Faucon. We enjoyed being able to walk to the excellent boulangerie and to the nearby restaurants, where we had some delicious meals. One of us also enjoyed pleasant walks on the quiet little roads and tracks in the surrounding countryside. Nathalie provided a warm welcome and looked after us very well. We loved renewing our acquaintance with the surrounding towns and villages (especially Vaison and Nyons) and revisiting favourite vineyards and co-ops, as well as some excursions to places we hadn't visited before (such as Buis-les-Baronnies). The onion tart at La Loupiote (on the road out of Vaison towards Carpentras) remains the best we've ever had! We left Faucon laden with lovely wines and Nyons olives. The weather was beautiful most of the time, though we did have one or two exciting thunderstorms. It's the first time we have stayed in a house without a fireplace and we would certainly have missed that if we had had more rainy or chilly days - a fire is cheerful even if not strictly needed for warmth! We had been slightly concerned beforehand about potential noise from the road. In fact this bothered us very little; the only disturbance came from a village party celebrating the end of the grape harvest and this seemed well justified! We noted some previous comments about noise from agricultural activities - these were no more than you would expect in any village or country location and did not bother us in the slightest. The house is well-equipped. We prefer a cafetiere (press) rather than a coffee machine, so we bought one and donated it for the benefit of future visitors. We also added to the collection of clothes pegs!

Perfect stay, wonderful property & amazing owners

5 of 5
This is a beautiful home, in a fantastic location. Comfortable, clean and very well equipped with fantastic indoor/outdoor living areas. The village of Sablet has everything that you need and the people are warm and welcoming. The local area has so many lovely places to visit and wine makers everywhere. If you like walking there are lots of great walks, particularly in the hills, from the house. Nimes airport is just 50 mins away, Marseille airport 1hr15. The owners of this property Patrick and Marie-Claude are the most charming, welcoming and friendly people, a big thank you to them for the welcome gift on arrival. We would recommend this property anytime of year and we certainly intend to return.

Fabulous property in a stunning location.

KAREN T. A BEAUTIFUL HOME IN A FABULOUS LOCATION 5 of 5 This is the second time myself and my husband and our, 2 German Shepherd dogs have stayed at La Grange and we had yet another fantastic holiday there. The house is ideally located in the centre of La Roque sur Ceze, a very beautiful hill top village surrounded by stunning countryside and only 10 minutes walk to La Cascades, stunning natural waterfalls. However, the best thing about the location of the farmhouse is that it is located next door to ' La Ceze' Restaurant, an outstanding restaurant run by Philippe and Karine, who are just the best possible hosts. The service is superb and the food is some of the best we have ever tasted and is without doubt, in our opinion, the best restaurant not just in La Roque sur Ceze but in the whole region. In fact we enjoyed eating in the restaurant so much that we ate there every evening while we were there, that the restaurant was open!!! ( a total of 12 nights of our 14 night stay!!!) Every meal was delicious, but our favourite was undoubtedly Le Cote de Beouf!!! Also the deserts are to die for!!! The house itself has a very contemporary feel to it. It is all open plan on the ground floor with a large well equipped kitchen and dining area and a lovely lounge area. Upstairs there are 3 spacious bedrooms and 2 modern bathrooms. Also the cleanliness in the house is of a very high standard. The pool and garden area is fully enclosed, so great for us with our dogs. The house would be good to rent at any time of year as it also has a huge log burner in the lounge to use in the winter months and is very close to Bagnols sur Ceze and Goudargues were there are restaurants, shops and other facilities that are open all year round. Lionel, the owner, yet again could not have been more welcoming and did everything he could possibly do to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Thank you Lionel for helping to make our stay at the La Grange so special and memorable. If you are thinking of booking this property for a holiday, do not hesitate book it!!! You will not be disappointed....
