This is a lovely comfortable gite with everything you could need supplied. The owners are very welcoming & visit to do the garden so are on hand if you need anything. There is a good washing machine, microwave & toaster as well as an excellent cooker & large fridge freezer. We stayed for a month so these things are important to us as we self cater a lot. The windows have inbuilt fly screens which pull down which is good as the gite does get warm. There is also a fan supplied. We had fabulous weather, unusual for May as we usually get a fair bit of rain, so these were indispensable. We used the Cora in Dreux for our main shopping & there is a decent economic restaurant there for lunch. Not far from there is a Chinese buffet which was ok. There are also a Lidl & Aldi - Google them for the address. The WiFi in the gite was excellent & the TV has a setting to change the language to English for any UK & American film or series which we didn't realise until well into our 2nd week! We like car boot sales & there were loads on as there were 4 bank holidays as well as the weekends. You can look them up for the area on a website called brocabrac. They are great fun as usually have food, a beer tent, sometimes a fair & it gives you a chance to try out your French as not many speak English. And you can buy some lovely unusual items. We had a great holiday here although it was a little too far from the coast for us. There are lots of chateaus around & you are near Versailles & Giverny & there are trains to Paris from Dreux. Thoroughly recommended. One word of caution, there is another small gite at the bottom of the garden which was in use most of the time we were there. The other residents were no trouble but the garden is therefore not exclusively yours if there are other guests. The small gite is screened by plants but they use the same drive & use the path past the bigger gite to access the gite.
It was a delight to stay in this house. Many interesting features. There were 10 of us, 6 adults and 4 children, so we needed plenty of space. The children loved sleeping on the mezzanine. The sitting and dining areas were ample, with a well equipped kitchen. Lots of lovely space outside for children and dog to run around in, and with lots of things to play on. An enjoyable stay.
