Make a Holiday Rental Apartment Saint Pabu, France, Your Home Away From Home

Saint Pabu is a small coastal settlement, located within the Finistere department of Brittany, to the extreme north-west of France. Although located just a few miles from the city of Brest, Saint Pabu occupies a quiet and unspoilt coastal location, making it an especially popular holiday destination for visitors wishing to experience the ‘real’ France. People looking to spend their holidays in Saint Pabu will discover that there is a good selection of self catering holiday rental properties to be found in and around the village. There are apartments and houses, as well as traditional French gites, or cottages, for those visitors looking to stay in a property full of rustic charm and character.

Things to Do on Holiday in Saint Pabu, France

The biggest attraction for most visitors spending their holidays in Saint Pabu is to kick off their shoes and relax in its tranquil surroundings. The more energetic visitors, however, may wish to put on a pair of comfortable hiking boots and explore the scenic Breton countryside. The landscape of rolling hills and wide plains can also be explored on foot, by bicycle or on horse back, following the many trails and routes which meander their way through the region. The region’s rugged coastline, dotted with ‘secret’ coves and sandy bays, is ideal for swimming, private sunbathing and spelunking, as well as for enjoying water sports, such as surfing, scuba diving, windsailing and jet-skiing.

Places to Visit on Holiday in Saint Pabu, France

Tourists spending their holidays in Saint Pabu who have had enough of the village’s slow pace of life may wish to head to the nearby city of Brest. As well as boasting some great shopping opportunities in its modern malls, specialist shops and department stores, the city is also home to numerous historical and cultural attractions. Perhaps the city’s most dominant landmark, Brest Castle, now houses the National Navy Museum. Other popular tourist attractions include the imposing Pont de Recouvrance, a 64 metre high, in-use drawbridge, Tanguy Tower and Oceanopolis, an extensive aquarium which includes Europe’s largest penguin enclosure. As to be expected from a large city, Brest also boasts a wonderfully diverse choice of restaurants and eateries, with menus specialising in fresh, locally caught seafood dishes.

Weather in Saint Pabu, France

This means that summers are generally pleasantly warm, with temperatures averaging in the late-teens to early-twenties degrees Celsius. Winters are cooler, with temperatures averaging around 9 degrees Celsius and seldom dropping below freezing. Visitors may wish to pack an umbrella, as due to its exposed coastal location, Saint Pabu and Finistere as a whole receives an average annual rainfall of around 45 inches!

Great house for an extended family holiday.

5 of 5
Very helpful owner. We were a family of 15 ranging from grandparents & including 7 grandchildren. Plenty of bedroom space with comfy beds. Sociable open plan living area. Well equipped kitchen etc. The garden was a hit with the children having swings, climbing frame & trampoline. Two large garden areas & outside seating & eating in the sun. But the biggest draw was the fantastic indoor pool. Beautiful unspoilt beaches a short walk away. White sand with silver sparkles. An area away from the usual tourist trail so peaceful. A short drive to small towns with hypermarket. Highly recommend. Thank you Valerie.

Great little get away

5 of 5
Just returned from spending two weeks in this little Gite. My partner myself and our dog stayed here for two weeks. The accommodation was more then adequate for two people. This was our first time in France I was surprised at the beaches stunning and not crowded. Dogs were allowed on the dunes at Saint Pabu beach after 19.00,it didn't get dark till after 22.30 so had some lovely walks on the beach in the evening. Saint Pabu is on an Estuary that is 5 mins walk from the Gite. Monique was there to greet us and went through places of interest and shop opening hours. We did not see her again till we were going home, but only lives a couple of doors up if you need anything. There is a nice secluded garden to sit in and enjoy a glass of wine and read your book. There is a shop come small bar and a bar that does food in the village but we never eat there so cannot recommend. Also a bar at the top of the village on the way to the dunes. If you like Cornwall then you'll love Saint Pabu. Very quite with lots of surrounding villages and every day a market in one of the villages. All in all we had a lovely holiday but would only stay a week next time. Thank you Monique for letting us stay in your lovely cottage.
