  • A wonderful family holiday - a home from home!
    5 of 5

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday staying at Le Grand Juvet, Maxine and Darren’s beautiful home - to say we were disappointed to leave is a massive understatement! Maxine and Darren made us feel incredibly welcome, as did their horses and chickens. Hopefully Scooby, Hugo, Tzar, Fluff and their pals have recovered from being stalked by our two-year old daughter!! The property itself is simply perfect for a relaxing break. The rooms are large, spacious and comfortable. The accommodation is fully equipped, including plenty of bedding and towels and there were plenty of supplies which you often have to provide yourself (toilet rolls, cling film, tin foil, washing/dishwasher tablets etc). The welcome package was really appreciated - bread, butter, milk, homemade jam, biscuits and the all important bottle of wine! Maxine was incredibly helpful in the lead up to our visit and provided crockery, cutlery, bedding and even a little step for our daughter. We were very lucky with the sunshine during our 2-week and the plunge pool was ideal to cool off. We enjoyed a number of BBQs (gas BBQ available for use) and the view of the sun setting over the valley is simply stunning! We can highly recommend the local bakery (a short drive to La Meyze), we found some fabulous local restaurants (Le Noctambule in Nexon, Le Vieux Chateau in La Roche l’Abeille) and we tried out many of the local lake beaches (Espace Hermeline at Bussière-Galant was our favourite). We really hope to return to Le Grant Juvet again next year and cannot recommend it highly enough – if you are looking for relaxation, views, comfort and warm welcome then look no further! Thank you Maxine and Darren for being incredible hosts xx

  • Great villa, great weather, great holiday!

We had an amazing time and the villa was superb! 4 Adults travelling with 1 toddler and 1 baby - who were both enjoying their first trips abroad - and we couldn't really have asked for much more. The pool was great, the villa was massive, and the weather was scorching (apart from Friday). We spent most days soaking up the sun and cooling off in the pool, but managed 2 trips out, to Limoges (north) and Souillac (south), to wonder the streets and experience the markets. The only slight downer was that we were just out of season, and therefore the local shops in Meuzac were not open (butchers/bakery); however a short drive to Magnac Bourg InterMarche (10 mins) provided everything we needed. Nanou greeted us when we arrived and we were made to feel very welcome indeed (with a lovely bottle of fizz in the fridge). Overall we have a fantastic time, and would highly recommend this villa to everyone.
