The Perfect Family holiday

5 of 5
We've just returned from a 14 day stay here. There were 12 adults, three teenagers and a 21 month old. The house was beautifully laid out (although I'm sure I must be a lot fitter having climbed the stairs many times!) Pascal was a very agreeable host and nothing was too much - he replied to all my endless emails, beforehand, promptly and was charming when we finally met. The salt water pool was a definite hit with everyone. The weather was very hot for 13 of the 14 days we were there. It certainly helped having the rooms air-conditioned. Most nights we ate around the canopied table and spent many evenings sitting around and chatting listening to the crickets chorus from the woodlands behind. The kitchen was well equipped with everything a family could possibly need. There were even cocktail glasses which were in use most evenings! We had several bar-be-ques and most of us made use of the local cafes/bars in the area. I can highly recommend the Pizza bar in the village as well as the croissant shop, next door, in the mornings. It was a lovely journey through the french villages to get to the nearest Carrefore supermarket and the prices were extremely reasonable. We visited a wine cave in nearby Gasparet. The beach at La Franqui was a favourite with both the young ones and the not so young ones. Perpignon and Carcasonne were also visited and thoroughly enjoyed. Overall we could not have asked for a better holiday made even better having stayed here in Pascal's lovely stone house. I would recommend, to anyone visiting this area, that a vehicle is essential. Thank you Pascal

A beautiful house in the lovely town of Durban Corbières.

5 of 5
This was our third holiday in Durban Corbières and it was great to find such a beautiful new house only a few hundred meters from heart of the town. Over looking the village, the house is beautiful with everything you need for a lovely relaxing holiday in the sun. It’s setting is ideal, offering easy access to the local bar/restaurant, supermarket and shops with the countryside, vine yards and forrest walks on the doorstep. Only a short drive (30 - 45 mins) to some beautiful beaches, the cities of Carcassonne and Narbonne, Durban Corbières is the ideal location for a holiday at any time of the year. Ursula, her family and neighbours are lovely people and made us feel very welcome.
