Beautiful location, perfect for a family of all ages!!

5 of 5
We stayed at Ancient Oaks for our summer holiday for 1 week. We were a family of 7 and had ages ranging from 4 months to 68 and everything in between, including two teenagers! It was perfect, plenty to see and do! The children never left the pool, then there were plenty of markets and pretty villages for the adults to buy ample quantities of the local goats cheese and local wine!! Only 5km down the road was Lake Sidalles which was a great day out with pedalo, boats and kayaks not forgetting the amazing zip lines for both adults and children. What is best is the lake itself was free to visit you only pay for what you use. We also had a day out at the Le Pal theme park and zoo where there was something for us all and at €28 per adult and free for those under 1metre makes it really good value for money. Dave and Di were great hosts, cleaning the pool every morning and they were always on hand with local knowledge. The house is well thought out. Beautifully done out with everything you could possibly need. 4 bedrooms, three bathrooms, an enormous lounge, a great kitchen with huge fridge and a beautiful barn area with a large table, gas BBQ and more importantly a beer fridge! There is an alarm on the swimming pool and a lick for the gate which was perfect to make sure that none of the little ones tried to sneak in a quick dip in the night! The local village less than 1km away has a local shop, doubling up as a bar, where you will get all your daily essentials of bread and milk. We thoroughly enjoyed our week, just what we needed and would recommend to anyone!! Thank you Dave and Di for being such great hosts.

Peace and tranquility

5 of 5
Our stay in your lovely cottage was everything we had hoped for. Peaceful setting, but close enough to local shops with stunning walks on our doorstep. The cottage contained everything we needed. The hot tub was a joy to relax in under the stars. Rachel and Phil couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming, suggesting places to visit and eat. Thank you for letting us share your piece of the countryside.
