A very relaxing stay in a charming, lovely cottage

5 of 5
We had a great week in this charming cottage. Lovingly renovated and well-equipped, it did everything it said on the tin. It was also very easy to find, despite being buried deep in the Brittany countryside - we just put Ty Griffet into google maps and it took us straight there.  And when we arrived there was a welcome pack of essential goodies waiting for us.  The house is well fitted out: The beds are very comfy, the internet is good, the pool temperature was spot-on and there was even a good selection of DVDs. There was no shortage of anything in the cupboards, although we didn't do any cooking. Except, of course, for crisping-up the french-bread to go with fresh prawns in their shells... my all-time favourite snack! We loved the garden too: spacious, quiet and private - as did Ellie, our spaniel, who thought she owned the place.  The nearest town is Pontivy, which  has many beautiful old buildings and is only 10 minutes away by car. And even if the French shops do seem to close at all hours of the day, the Inter-Marche supermarket has a great selection of fresh fish, wine and local cheeses. Even better, and much to our surprise and delight, they also stock a particularly nice local wheat beer (Britt Blanche) To top it all, we had great weather too - over 30 degrees on several days.  All in all, a very relaxing stay in a charming, lovely cottage .
