House full of character, lovely rural location

House full of character, lovely rural location, very secluded, great value for money and facilities all good. A pool would be nice :-) Would definitely stay there again, only slight criticism is the track to get to the property is quite difficult to negotiate in a sports car

A Peaceful, Delightful Escape.

5 of 5
At the signpost for La Ravaloire, we turned on to a wooded track, not certain what to expect from our accommodation for the next two weeks. Driving carefully through the trees, on the lookout for deer and birds, we soon emerged in to a tranquil meadow. As the gravel track turned in to a well-maintained lawn, our delightful cottage was the first thing we saw. We were given a very warm welcome by the owners, and a room-by-roon tour of the cottage, before being left to start our holiday. The cottage is immaculate. Impeccably designed throughout, with wood beams, tile and concrete floors, and many original features. The lounge/dining/kitchen area works very well and extends on to a rear deck. The downstairs bedroom has an en-suite while the two large upstairs bedrooms share a very well finished bathroom. There is plenty of hot water, all appliances are new, and the wifi kept us connected when we chose to be. This is a very comfortable, light, airy, and peaceful location. Nearby is a heated pool with loungers, surrounded by hedging for privacy. There are views that extend many miles to the hills in the distance. You awake to bird song and the buzz of bees visiting many of the beautiful flowers around the entire property. There is space to walk across fields and, even when it rains, sitting in the living area, with back doors open, drinking a glass of French wine and reading a book, is magical, and a welcome break from the daily routine. Our hosts were charming, welcoming, and took care to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We could not have asked for more. Nearby is a small town with essential supplies, will in La Fleche you will find major supermarkets, a whole food-type store, a Michelin-starred restaurant, and many other facilities. A delightful property which we plan to return to, and which we highly recommend.
