Quistinic is a stunningly picturesque region in the Lorient countryside, dotted with beautiful thatched villages and French gites, visiting Quistinic is like taking a trip back in time to the French countryside in the middle of the 19th century. If you are interested in a perfectly laid-back holiday in the blissfully unspoilt countryside of Brittany, far from the tourist crowds, look no further than a Quistinic gite, cottage or villa.

Things to do on holiday in Quistinic, France

The gently meandering River Blavet runs right through the area, providing a natural path for walkers, cyclists and those on horse back to see the best of the region from a completely unspoilt, tranquil viewpoint. Canoeing up the river is possibly the most enjoyable way to explore the course of the River Blavet, travelling slowly enough to see wildlife, yet slow enough to be able to stop, join the fishermen on the banks or have a peaceful picnic in the French countryside.

The river fishing in Brittany is some of the finest in the whole of France, and the River Blavet is among the best there is for course fishing, and fishing permits can be bought for a single day, a week or a fortnight, covering you to fish anywhere in Morbihan.

Golfers are also exceptionally well catered for in a Quistinic property. There are a handful of excellent golf courses in the Quistinic area, of which the Val Queven Golf Course is possibly the best. If you take your handicap certificate with you to your holiday home in Quistinic letting you play on many of the local courses, you should have no trouble arranging a tee-off time.

We where very please with the Cottage in Auray. It was very clean, with a beautiful kitchen, and bathroom. We would certainly go again, and recomend it to anyone. It was one of our best Stays. Auray is a great place. The port with all the Restaurants and Artists. The town its self, with the fish market, open everyday, and a great market by the church, Monday and Friday. Good shopping, and plenty of places to visit, not to far away, including Vannes Port, market day Wednesday, and Point Avon only a short drive, also Trinity le Mer, for boat Enthusiast.

quiet rural location

5 of 5
Quiet rural location but only 15 minutes from the nearest town with a supermarket. The cottage was clean and well presented with everything you would need for a holiday stay, uk satellite tv is also available which is a bonus. The owners provide good information about the local area which we visited in September when the whole of Brittany was very quiet but the lack of traffic at that time of year was a plus point. We would definitely recommend this property for two people looking for a quiet break.

Quiet and peaceful, and not to remote.

4 of 5
Lovely place and well equiped although some kind of music player would have been good. Really interesting grounds and right alongside the stream and mill race. Gardens are attractive although in September they were a bit overgrown, some plants rather congested the pathways around the cottage which was OK except after the rain which also made the decking in the lower patio a bit greasy and slippy but all else was fine. Our only regret was with all that wood about it's a shame the heater isn't a wood burner instead of an oil heater, wasn't really cold but some evenings it would have nice to sit in front of a wood fire, maybe a fire pit would be a good idea. All in all though a really clean pleasant place and just as described. We never did get to try any of the local restaurants but used the Intermache at Guémené-sur-Scorff. Oh and if you need WiFi go to the Library in Guémené-sur-Scorff, up at the top of the main street by the small parking area. Of interest are the castle walls in the town and are worth a look, our main reason for visiting this area was to visit the Carnac area but due to a miscalculation on my part they were a bit farther away than I realised but still reachable, about an hour and twenty away. Good area for walking at least some of the roads, usually quiet, and forest tracks.
