Port Cogolin - Port Cogolin and the stunning surrounding area

One of the most beautiful marinas on La Cote d’Azur, Port Cogolin is situated in the heart of the Gulf of St. Tropez. 3 residential complexes surround the marina, paths lead alongside the canal and it’s moorings with yachts both prestigious and more traditional. La Giscle brings the Mediterranean sea from the Gulf and separates Port Grimaud and Port Cogolin by just a few metres passing in front of the traditional fishermen’s’ houses. Holiday makers blend in with the permanent residents creating a friendly, calm atmosphere all year round. Apartments and fishermen’s’ houses are painted in Provincal colours and local flora fill the gardens with palm trees adding an exotic touch. 2 restaurants, both situated on the water’s edge, run by locals serve seafood, meat etc. A shopping mall, with a pharmacy, bank, tourist office, bakery, and a supermarket is close by as are a seasonal funfair and circus, paintballing, water sports, horse riding and mini golf. Great sports for all ages.

Throughout the year, in the surrounding villages, there is a superb selection of first class dining and shopping blending with more local specialist restaurants. Art exhibitions and workshops, antique fairs, sailing regattas, braderies, Provence markets, the Antipod Cinema Festival, architectural and flower shows, polo tournaments, classical and jazz music festivals, the Bravade and 14th July National celebration day all attract hundreds of international tourists animating the streets and ports with admirers and competitors. 25 vineyards, numerous beaches and 4 Medieval, hillside villages full of history, short walks, castles, churches, monuments, museums, sidewalk cafés and stunning views are within 10kms. Specialities include pottery, rugs, wrought iron, handcrafted pipes, olive oil, honey, jams and wine.

There is so much to do here; 1 week just isn’t enough!

Absolute Paradise!

5 of 5
A delightful, comfortable yacht equipped with every essential and utensil including hot water, air conditioning, a toilet, fridge and cooker. There's even a shower although we chose to use the private shower and toilet facilities in the marina (1 min walk away.) The Vaakuna is unique and full of character with comfortable beds and everything you need for a fantastic holiday. It is moored about 2 mins walk from the sandy beach and a good selection of restaurants and a little supermarket are 3 or 4 mins walk away. We caught the train from London to St Raphael and the 7601 bus to La Foux - 20mins walk from Marines des Cogolin. We didn't miss the car at all. Everything we needed was right there and you can catch les bateaux verts for trips out to St Tropez, Port Grimaud, St Maxine about 1 min walk away from boat. The host, Meike, was delightful and very welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. The hosts live nearby but left us in peace to enjoy our holiday but it was nice to know they were nearby if we'd had a problem. Meike even left us a chilled bottle of rosé, chilled water and some nibbles as a welcome treat which was much appreciated after our long journey, very kind . It made us feel so welcome too. My husband and I stayed with our 6 year old who found the whole experience of 'boat life ' to be an incredible adventure and with the warm, inviting Mediterranean Sea to play in only a few steps away he was in his element! I couldn't recommend this accommodation or the host any more highly and we are already making plans to return to the beautiful Vaakuna in the future. We can't wait! Thank you so much Meike, we have wonderful memories to take home with us.

My perfect stay in Bay of St. Tropez!

Thank you so much for providing the ideal setting for a chilled holiday. The apartment was lovely, had everything I needed. The bedroom balcony was perfect for morning coffee overlooking Port Grimaud and the garden. The main balcony was just perfect for sunbathing and a glass or two of wine. I eat out there most evenings watching the boats messing around! Plenty of night life when needed too. The beach was close by and pool a gem so all good. Didn't miss the UK one jot! Hope to be back next year- thanks.
