Port Cogolin - Port Cogolin and the stunning surrounding area

One of the most beautiful marinas on La Cote d’Azur, Port Cogolin is situated in the heart of the Gulf of St. Tropez. 3 residential complexes surround the marina, paths lead alongside the canal and it’s moorings with yachts both prestigious and more traditional. La Giscle brings the Mediterranean sea from the Gulf and separates Port Grimaud and Port Cogolin by just a few metres passing in front of the traditional fishermen’s’ houses. Holiday makers blend in with the permanent residents creating a friendly, calm atmosphere all year round. Apartments and fishermen’s’ houses are painted in Provincal colours and local flora fill the gardens with palm trees adding an exotic touch. 2 restaurants, both situated on the water’s edge, run by locals serve seafood, meat etc. A shopping mall, with a pharmacy, bank, tourist office, bakery, and a supermarket is close by as are a seasonal funfair and circus, paintballing, water sports, horse riding and mini golf. Great sports for all ages.

Throughout the year, in the surrounding villages, there is a superb selection of first class dining and shopping blending with more local specialist restaurants. Art exhibitions and workshops, antique fairs, sailing regattas, braderies, Provence markets, the Antipod Cinema Festival, architectural and flower shows, polo tournaments, classical and jazz music festivals, the Bravade and 14th July National celebration day all attract hundreds of international tourists animating the streets and ports with admirers and competitors. 25 vineyards, numerous beaches and 4 Medieval, hillside villages full of history, short walks, castles, churches, monuments, museums, sidewalk cafés and stunning views are within 10kms. Specialities include pottery, rugs, wrought iron, handcrafted pipes, olive oil, honey, jams and wine.

Fantastic Apartment - A Gem!

Having been to Port Grimaud regularly over 20 years we have stayed in all types of accommodation. This apartment is very tastefully equipped with everything you need. The location is perfectly peaceful away from the busy tourist areas within the port. Access to the beach is 174 steps away. We counted. This part of the beach is quieter than the area by Prairies de la Mer, which suited us. The apartment does not have a balcony or outside space, however the very large windows allow the outside and evening sunshine straight into the lounge and comfy sofas. Perfect for a glass of wine or two! The views of the port are spectacular from these windows, day or night. Communication with Sally and Stephen is great, from booking to information. We are both looking forward to our stay there next year! We are going to book as soon as we can.
