Make a holiday rental villa or holiday cottage in Pontivy, Morbihan, France your home away from home

The charming town of Pontivy in the Morbihan region of Brittany, France, is split into two halves overlooking the River Loire. Pontivy is a wonderful market town set in the beautiful countryside of Brittany. A holiday rental here is a perfect place to relax in the great outdoors, walk and experience the rich culture and fine food.

Things to do on holiday in Pontivy, France

The medieval old half of Pontivy is a wonderful place to explore. Created to Napoleon’s own plans, the old half of the city is centred around a dramatic, sturdy castle on the river bank. The narrow streets of medieval Pontivy are filled with charming cafes and excellent restaurants, shaded by overhanging wooden houses. The Monday market is a wonderful place to stock up on groceries and local produce during your stay in a Pontivy holiday cottage.

However, it is the countryside surrounding the town which brings the majority of people to a self catering Pontivy holiday cottage. The rolling hills and quiet woodland which come down to meet the River Loire are interrupted only by the charming rural villages which Breton is famed for.

                  A Fantastic Holiday

The cottage was huge with plenty of space for the five of us. The pool was great for the girls. The cottage is totally secluded and offers complete privacy. If you enjoy walking or cycling, the place is ideal with the Nantes-Brest canal just a mile away allowing fantastic walks or cycling. The cottage is extremely well equipped with plenty to keep everybody occupied. Good wi-fi and Sky TV. Really appreciated the items in the fridge on arrival and thoroughly enjoyed the stay

The mill and surounding area was simply outstanding. The mill house was cosy and tastfully furnished . The lake near by is home to lots of wildlife . It was a treat to see the family of otters each moring while walking our dog. We made good use of the kayaks and the rowing boat which are all easly accessible.Bikes and a trampoline aswell. I would highly recommend this part of france . Nick & karen from Lancashire
