Pluzunet Holiday Homes

Make a holiday rental home or cottage in Pluzunet, France your home away from home.

Pluzunet, France

The tiny village of Pluzunet lies in the Cotes d’Armor department of France – 16km from the region’s principal city of Lannion and just half an hour’s drive from the picturesque north coast of Brittany. Pluzunet is typical of villages in this part of France; with a population around the 1,000 mark, a welcome lack of mass tourism and an emphasis more on enjoying the delights of nature than spending money on man-made attractions.

Things to do in Pluzunet, France

With attractions in Pluzunet largely free courtesy of Mother Nature, this destination is great for families looking for an active and enjoyable holiday that will not break the bank, as well as couples seeking a secluded getaway and outdoor adventure lovers.

Although a hire car is a good choice for getting to and from the airport, other, slower methods of transport are considered the best way of getting around the area surrounding Pluzunet. Hiring a bicycle is a great way to explore the surrounding countryside, whilst a mountain bike is a good option for those seeking hillier terrain and more active days. On foot is arguably the best method of all though, and is of course also the cheapest!

Amenities within the centre of Pluzunet are basic but adequate. This means a small selection of local shops, a village bar and a couple of places to eat. The close-knit nature of the local community means that a foreign tourist is easily recognised when out and about – but the reception is always welcoming, and visitors will find the Breton-speaking locals welcoming and hospitable.

Places to visit on holiday in Pluzunet, France

The attractive medieval centre of Lannion is the most popular option for a day trip from Pluzunet (16km), but there are many more options to consider. Many visitors like to head to the north coast to take in the spectacular landscape of sandy beaches, blue-green sea and pink rock-faces, and the small village of Trelevern (26km) is a great place from which to do this. Another option is spectacular medieval town of Saint-Brieuc (58km).

Weather in Pluzunet, France

The entire period between May and September is the best time for a vacation in Pluzunet, France, with the weather at this time generally warm and dry. Although temperatures of above 20°C are common during these months, the north coast does not receive the extremely hot temperatures that can be experienced further south.

Travel to Pluzunet, France

International airports close to Pluzunet are few and far between, and as a result it is ferry crossings that are often the method of choice for visitors coming from the UK. Those that are determined to fly should consider Brest-Bretagne Airport (BES), which lies 80km to the west and receives flights from Birmingham, Manchester and Southampton through Flybe.

Our Two Weeks in Ploulec'h

5 of 5
The property is ideal for couples or a larger family. We found everything we needed and the place was clean and modern with a homely feel. Our stay was based around walking and general sightseeing and the location was perfect for our requirements being in a quiet residential area without losing its sense of privacy. We would thoroughly recommend a holiday in this area and especially a stay in this house. Gerry, the owner, was more than helpful with directions and useful information to help us enjoy the facilities on offer in the surrounding area. a really enjoyable trip.

Blown Away

5 of 5
We thoroughly enjoyed our all too short stay at Le Petit Damelot despite the wind and rain with plenty of sun and rainbows too! It just added to the spectacle and experience of this amazing region. The gite is modern and generously equipped, very comfortable and snugly! Ann and Stuart are great hosts with helpful tips on where to go, especially the Manoir du Sphinx Logis at Perros where we enjoyed a fine meal in spectacular surroundings. The 'starter pack' of milk, baguette, butter, jam, tea and coffee, wine and cidre was very generous and thoughtful. The Cote d' Amor is incredible with its fractured rocky coastline of rose coloured granite with many beautiful bays and headlands where we enjoyed several blustery walks. The nearby towns and villages such as Pontrieux, Tregier, Paimpol, Lesadrieux, Lannion, and many another are lovely. The Chateaux and gardens of La Roche Jagu is well worth a visit with its wonderful views and extensive garden walks, no doubt even better earlier in the season. The local moules bulot and gallettes are a must, we didn't have a bad one whether from a bistro or roadside van! We will be back!
