Pleugriffet Holiday Homes

Make a holiday rental home or gite in Pleugriffet, France your home away from home. Pleugriffet, France

Pleugriffet is a small commune in the Morbihan department of Brittany, France – an area known for its rolling countryside, laid-back pace of life and lack of mass tourism. Attractions in the village rely mainly on the delights of nature, with days of walks, hikes and cycle rides to be had amongst some of the finest scenery in the region. If you are seeking peaceful countryside retreat, look no further.

Things to do in Pleugriffet, France

Pleugriffet is located in the heart of the Breton countryside, and the village’s holiday rental cottages are the ideal base from which to explore this rural and unspoilt land. Many visitors to the village like to get up early in the morning, and plan their day over a cup of strong coffee and a locally-bought breakfast, before heading out in seek of adventure.

Activity options in Pleugriffet are numerous, with cycling, mountain biking, walking, hiking and horse riding all perfectly viable ways of getting around. A number of lakes can be found nearby, and canoe (and kayak) hire is also readily available, whilst those that prefer something a little less energetic can elect to enjoy a spot of fishing or simply relax on the river bank with a good book.

In terms of amenities, Pleugriffet has all that can be expected of a small village. This means a bakery for fresh crusty bread and croissants, a grocer for fruit and vegetables, a butcher for meat, and a bar for the all important glasses of wine and other liquid refreshments. The nearest supermarket can be found ten minutes’ drive away, so stocking up the food supplies does not become a problem either, but it goes without saying that the use of a car is strongly advised in this rural part of France.

Places to visit on holiday in Pleugriffet, France

Pleugriffet is conveniently located within touching distance of many of the main tourist destinations in the region. An example of such a destination is Pontivy (24km), a picturesque town which overlooks the River Loire. A slightly quieter destination also worth considering for a day visit is the village of La Chapelle Neuve (31km), which is something of a walkers delight due to its flat plains.

Weather in Pleugriffet, France

The Morbihan department of Brittany receives reasonably warm temperatures during summer months, so those who book their Pleugriffet holiday accommodation for this time of year can expect days of between 20°C and 25°C. Rainfall remains fairly constant throughout the year, though November, December and January should ideally be avoided as they are historically the wettest months.

Travel to Pleugriffet, France

A flight to Rennes – Saint Jacques Airport (RNS) is usually regarded as the simplest way of getting to Pleugriffet from the UK, as the two destinations are around an hour’s drive (86km) from eachother. It is also often the cheapest way, as airlines that fly to Rennes include low-cost operators Flybe, who operate services from Belfast, Edinburgh, Exeter, Manchester, Newcastleand Southampton.

Excellent escape

5 of 5
Everything you could want and need to get away from it all and chill. Fully equipped, clean and well maintained. Shops 10 min drive away in Josselin. Would recommend Les Forges to those looking to unwind and would visit again.

Superb cottage, wonderful hosts

5 of 5
Rose cottage is lovely. Comfortable and extremely well furnished and equipped, beautifully presented. Set in a beautiful location with views to die for. So peaceful, just what we needed for our weeks stay. Lots of great places to visit and most easily accessible from Credin the nearest village to the cottage. Tony & Pauline are amazing hosts, so helpful, and lots of good tips on where to visit and they manage all of this without being intrusive. We can thoroughly recommend both cottages (we were shown around Lavender cottage). Tony & Pauline clearly take pride in their gites and so they should, after only 18 months in the business they have worked hard and are doing a brilliant job. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
