Superb spacious property with lovely open views

The property was very spacious and well equipped for a very comfortable holiday. There were lovely open views all round. The village had very good facilities and we were well positioned to explore the Charente & Dordogne regions. Margarete provided excellent service (and even opened up the pool in April for us). It would certainly be somewhere we would like to stay again.

An interesting and peaceful rural cottage

                                      5 of 5
Whilst looking for a quiet cottage to stay for a few days on our road trip south we decided on this charming property, Tracy and Dave the laid back owners who live in a separate property on site close by, were friendly and helpful when required. The flexibility of renting for part of a week to fit with our travel plans was particularly helpful. The cottage is spacious, modern and comfortable. Set at the end of a long lane amongst a few farming properties in a small hamlet and large forested area. A good nights sleep was very welcome and guaranteed every night. With the warm weather most evenings were spent at the rear of the property with a glass of wine and the barbecue lit enjoying some fine dining on local produce and taking in the beautiful views across the valley. The herd of cattle in the distance, sheep, pony and the cheeky cat keeping us amused as we considered how lucky we were. Nearby Aubeterre is an attractive place, set on a steep hill side. Small enough to walk around but large enough to keep one entertained with a hand full of restaurants, shops and bars. The Monolith church carved out of the cliff just around the corner from the main square is a must see, quite remarkable. back at the cottage on a really hot afternoon it was also a relief to take a dip in the above ground pool to cool off. This property is a little gem in a beautiful region of France and i would highly recommend a stay here. We enjoyed our time so much we have booked another longer visit for this year. Paradise with a view

                                      5 of 5
A beautiful house in a stunning location with wonderful views. Very well equipped with all mod cons including washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, DVD player, BBQ. Board games for all ages supplied and useful local maps and tourist information. Lovely, well maintained swimming pool. Golf and tennis 5 minutes walk down the hill, plus bar, restaurant and weekly BBQs. Owners, Jacqui and Hans, always very helpful and able to advise on local activities and trips. Pretty village of Aubeterre and supermarket and shops in St Severin both 5 minutes drive away. Chalais and Riberac within easy drive for more shops and markets. Plenty of good restaurants to suit all budgets. Would highly recommend this property, the only criticism being that it is difficult to concentrate on a book while sitting on the patio because of the need to constantly look up at the view.
