Make holiday rental accommodation or a villa in Pech-Luna, France your home away from home

Hidden in the mountains of the Castelnaudary region of Languedoc-Roussillon's Aude department, a Pech-Luna villa is a wonderfully unspoilt place to find yourself in both summer and winter. Untouched by the hands of tourism and set among spectacular Pyrenean scenery, Pech-Luna accommodation is a real treat for any nature lover looking to experience the very best of the South of France. Pech-Luna is a hilltop village with sensational views across the mountainous Aude countryside just an hour from the Mediterranean and the historic towns that have made Languedoc so famous throughout Europe.

Things to do in Pech-Luna, France

The countryside which surrounds Pech-Luna villas is simply stunning. The mountains are covered in a maze of walking, mountain biking and riding routes, maps for which are available from all tourist information centres in the area. There are also a couple of fantastic fishing lakes nearby, where the fishing is equal to the spectacular views you will enjoy. Fishing permits are easily obtained, being sold in most local tabacs.

Despite its complete seclusion, Pech-Luna is just 30km from the Mediterranean. There are endless expanses of golden sand beaches along this part of the French Mediterranean, and even during the height of summer, the beaches are never crowded, unlike those further along the Cote d'Azur.

During the winter, you are only 50 minutes from the ski resorts of the Pyrenees too. Pyrenean skiing is fantastic, especially for families with varied levels of ability, with wide pistes which rarely suffer from crowding.

Places to visit from Pech-Luna, France

There are a huge number of interesting place to visit from Pech-Luna. The famous tourist town of Carcassonne, known for having some of Europe's most impressive and best preserved mediaeval buildings is less than an hour away, and it really must be explored on any Pech-Luna holiday.

The Cathars village of Laurax and the medieval town of Fanjeaux must also feature on any Pech-Luna holiday. Perfectly unspoilt, and miles from the well beaten tourist trail, Laurac and Fanjeaux give you the perfect opportunity to really enjoy local cultures, and especially the local cuisine.

Flights to Pech-Luna, France

Carcassonne Airport is just 35km from a holiday rental in Pech-Luna, and Toulouse, a slightly large airport, is just 75km away. There are regular inbound flights from the UK to both airports, provided by a range of airlines. A hire car is essential for anyone staying in a Pech-Luna villa.

A wonderful place to stay

5 of 5
We stayed at the domaine for a week during July. We cannot thank Jenny and Jimmy enough for everything they did to ensure all our needs were met during our stay. We had a fabulous week - it was beautiful and well furnished. We had a few special requests including providing an airbed so my brother could stay the night before he got married and also a travel cot and high chair for my two year old. The accommodation, pool and surrounding gardens are lovely and well looked after. All in all, a great place to stay. You feel out of the hustle and bustle but not far away from attractions and places to visit. There are two folders providing considerable information of recommendations for restaurants, attractions etc. Very handy. Thank you again and would love to return in the future to discover the local area some more. We were caught up in wedding celebrations for a few days and didn't get to see everything we would have wished to! Anna, Simon, Samuel and Jenny

The Perfect Gite

5 of 5
We loved staying in this gite. The rooms are beautifully thought out and very well appointed. There is a wood burner which works really well if the weather is cold. The BBQ is an a la plancha style so cooking fish is a joy. The views from the gite are unsurpassed and the walks around the area are many and varied. The pool is very big and lovely to swim in. The wifi and the tv are great and work really well and fast. Can't recommend more highly.
