Very good value excellent location

The apartment is very comfortable with good quality fittings and amenities. Although in the heart of the old town close to cafes and restaurants it was also very quiet. Pradip was a wonderful host collecting us from the railway station and ensuring we were able to locate the apartment. We had a wonderful stay, Cahors is a beautiful town

Fabulousy relaxing, recently renovated place is charming and historic surroundings

Wow - what an amazing place! We were lucky enough to be the first guests to stay at the house which the owners have been renovating for some time. Bursting with character and with all the mod cons you need too in a lovely location next to the historic church. On our arrival there was a moment of concern when the church bells rang out on the half hour but they stopped between 9pm and 8am - phew! The house itself is spread across three floors giving a sense of space for us (we are a family of five). The pool is great and at a great temperature - lots of inflatables too which the kids loved. Do remember to unclip the pool cover when opening the pool - eldest son forgot and had to replace 3 clips at €13.50 each! We spent many hours relaxing around the pool - big son spend 6 hours in it one day! Fabulous outside space too - great spot under the cedar tree for BBQing and enjoying the evening light. At Laurent’s suggestion we did duck breasts on the BBQ one night - delicious! Wifi worked really well in the sitting room but because of the building’s thick walls didn’t travel that well. Fine for us but might be a thing for others. The neighbours were all really helpful and friendly - everyone we met in the village seemed to be English! We ate at home most evenings and picked up food at the local markets on the whole - the market at Prayssac was especially good. Puy L’eveque was well worth a walk around - fabulous and interesting history even if finding it wasn’t easy! There is a walk you can do that picks out some historic buildings that even the three kids enjoyed (or maybe that was the promise of an ice cream at the end). This isn’t an area we knew a lot about before our visit - so much history here and stunning places to visit. On the one less good day of weather we had we went to see some castles which was great fun. On the way back to Bergerac airport we randomly stopped at Monpazier for a drink - incredible place and well worth visiting if you’re passing by. We’ve stayed in a number of villas over the years and not many did we feel so instantly relaxed in, even with a 20-month old baby in tow! And Martignac is a lovely peaceful spot (if you’ll cope with the nocturnal countryside noises of local dogs and cockerels) - Puy L’eveque is close enough for all the day to day needs - boulangerie, markets, restaurants and markets. So overall it’s a wonderful place in a fabulous part of the country - bags of character, history and things to do.
