Home from Home, lovely hosts and wonderful surroundings.

Paul and Susan are lovely hosts, including Zac the dog and lily the cat. Every need is catered for and the house is well equipped and so cosy. Spring was late arriving so we made good use of the beautiful fireplace and wood burner. Great places to sit outside and look at the views. The house is close to the beautiful Collanges la Rouge where Susan has a boutique, well worth a visit but it does get really busy during the summer. There are so many beautiful villages and scenic places to visit from here. We had a wonderful holiday here.

The perfect place to get away from it all!

Jessica and Steve's property is set up a country lane just outside the village of Lostanges. As we drove up the road we knew immediately that we had selected the perfect destination. Neighbours nearby, but completely private with open valley views from all sides. The property itself is spacious and we loved the open plan and light living, kitchen, dining space, beautifully converted with every modern convenience but with all the typical traditional features you would expect - high beam ceilings, fire surround and shutters etc. The triple aspect windows meant that the rooms felt light and bright, even on the dullest of January days. The master bed/ensuite is generous and well appointed, the bed supremely comfortable and positioned so that you can lie in and watch and listen to the nature outside. There is a second large room with two beds with a main bathroom and laundry room, not used by us but equally lovely. The terrace captures all day sun (even in winter) and we made good use of it every day, not to mention the pool which I am sure would be well used in summer! If you are a fan of walking/riding there are local trails from the door, or several GR routes in a short drive (Jessica and Steve provided an abundance of maps :-). Food/essential shopping options are a 15min drive and Meyssac had a good range of eating out places and other village services. We enjoyed exploring the villages and countryside around Collanges-la-rouge, Curmonte, Turenne, Loubressac, Martel and Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne.. We booked this holiday at the last minute as an antidote to a manic 2017.. We left feeling invigorated and fully relaxed.. We can't thank Jessica and Steve for making our stay so memorable and we look forward to returning to explore further.
