This was a very well maintained villa which could comfortably sleep 8. The building is on 3 separate levels with lounge and dining areas throughout and a small TV area at the top. It has a well furnished kitchen with ample fridge/freezer space and all other mod cons for eating indoors or out. There are 2 separate outdoor patios which can be used depending on when the sun is setting and which way the wind is blowing. The house is well equipped if you need to wash/dry/iron clothes etc and has good dependable Wi-Fi.
The villa stands in its own grounds and has ample play areas for children as well as its own pool with an excellent safety system to detect any accidents. From the rear of the property you have your own private walkway leading to the beautiful costal path which is great for walking or cycling along the coast. It is 10 minutes walk to 3 very good restaurants and 15 minutes drive to the centre of La Rochelle which is an attractive town with many amenities.
The owner, Isabelle, could not have been more helpful. She was there to meet us on arrival and spent time explaining where everything was, how it all worked as well as giving us valuable information on the surrounding area, restaurants, beeches, golf courses, etc. When she noticed a small leak in the dishwasher pipe she immediately called a plumber and waited a considerable time to ensure it was fixed, even though she was travelling back to Paris that afternoon.
I would definitely recommend this property for a relaxing holiday which would be ideal for big parties or 2 separate families travelling together.
Valerie and Michele were very friendly and helpful despite language difficulties. The house is in a nice quiet suburb of La Rochelle with nearby shops (Supermarche, boulangerie, post office, pharmacy) within walking distance and a 10 minute drive into beautiful La Rochelle.
The property was updated to modern standards and the kitchen very well equipped for self catering.
Would definitely go back again!
