Walking, hiking and cycling are popular activities that take you on the many trails through medieval villages, passed splendid chateaux and along the banks of the tranquil River Isle.

Relaxing stay in a beautiful gite!

5 of 5
We had a wonderful stay at Chez Le Vigneron with our two children. The accommodation itself is beautiful; classic in style, clean, comfortable beds and we had everything provided that we could possibly need. Although the weather was cold (we visited in January!) the gite was nice and cozy with a log fire and the owners even put electric blankets in the beds which was a thoughtful touch. The grounds are gorgeous and the family is lovely :) Thanks Karen, Rich, Arabella and Julia for a fantastic time!

Everything we had hoped for

5 of 5
We were two families with 3 kids each all under 14 and this house was perfect for us. As a group of ten we could ate outdoors nearly every night in the summer house - we drank wine while the kids battled it out for table tennis champ. Plenty of loungers and a lovely warm pool during the day meant that we didn't venture out much. We did go on a couple of walks across the fields and through the forest and in to the village close by for bread and a coffee every morning. The town of St Foy is lovely and the huge market on Saturday morning was great fun. Kids and adults like had a great time, adults especially enjoying long lie ins as a result of the shutters! Lovely.

Paris is Paris, but this is France.

5 of 5
On our latest trip to France we planned on a relaxing vacation staying one week in Bordeaux and another quiet one in the country. Well once we viewed Liz and Graham’s gite, we decided to skip the city and spend the full two weeks there. Liz and Graham have put a lot of time, energy and talent into creating a beautiful place to live. We could see it and feel it. We are grateful they made it possible for others to share and to enjoy. The reviews on the site are very helpful. They are detailed, accurate and complementary in describing the experience, the apartment, the surroundings, and the owners and we couldn’t agree more. The private self-catering, beautifully French decorated, well-kept apartment allowed to set our own pace each day. The well equipped kitchen was put to great use since darkness set in before restaurants opened for dinner at that time of year. The satellite TV kept us up to date on the latest news and the Wi-Fi connection allowed us to plan our days knowing the latest weather forecast. Being able to enjoy some Facetime (internet-iPad) with our children and grandchildren was certainly a bonus. Liz’s help in suggesting day trips, places to see and eat were invaluable in allowing us to make the best use of our time. Thank you for sharing the ‘best of France’ with us and for arranging perfect weather. We couldn’t have had a more enjoyable and a more memorable time. Marie & Ray Canada
