Walking, hiking and cycling are popular activities that take you on the many trails through medieval villages, passed splendid chateaux and along the banks of the tranquil River Isle.

Relaxing stay in a beautiful gite!

5 of 5
We had a wonderful stay at Chez Le Vigneron with our two children. The accommodation itself is beautiful; classic in style, clean, comfortable beds and we had everything provided that we could possibly need. Although the weather was cold (we visited in January!) the gite was nice and cozy with a log fire and the owners even put electric blankets in the beds which was a thoughtful touch. The grounds are gorgeous and the family is lovely :) Thanks Karen, Rich, Arabella and Julia for a fantastic time!

Everything we had hoped for

5 of 5
We were two families with 3 kids each all under 14 and this house was perfect for us. As a group of ten we could ate outdoors nearly every night in the summer house - we drank wine while the kids battled it out for table tennis champ. Plenty of loungers and a lovely warm pool during the day meant that we didn't venture out much. We did go on a couple of walks across the fields and through the forest and in to the village close by for bread and a coffee every morning. The town of St Foy is lovely and the huge market on Saturday morning was great fun. Kids and adults like had a great time, adults especially enjoying long lie ins as a result of the shutters! Lovely.

The Perfect Retreat

5 of 5
The Maison du Fleuve is the perfect retreat You forget all your worries and put up your feet Sat round the pool where you can gaze upon The ancient town walls of Aubettere Sur Dronne. The house is a good size with plenty of charm Instilling in oneself a good sense of calm Two kitchens are handy, one up and one down The veranda with games room the jewel in its crown Each night we sat out to chat and play games The pizza ovens great but ours went up in flames Heed our advice and don't use too much wood 'Cos when there's no burnt bits the Pizza tastes good! La Taverne is close by, the service is great No complaints here for the food that we ate. The kayaks were fun but the course is a test Even Ray Mears would've struggled at best Overall everyone had a great stay The greatest of times in every way So thank you to Roland, and Janie and Sue Hopefully one day we'll rebook with you.
