  • Comfortable, family-friendly, very local to amenities right in the town-centre

We enjoyed our stay at 1 Place de Halle immensely - as a family with three children ranging between 14 and 19 it was amazing to be in the town centre proper with all the sights, sounds and smells of rural small town France happening just below the window. During our stay the weather was hot, hot, hot, so the pool was a welcome relief and thankfully enjoyed shade for most of the day due to the height of the surrounding walls. We swam in the river (literally as warm as a bath) at the Guingette de la Plage (10-min walk away). The local Carrefour was only a 4-min walk away, so actually as we hoped a holiday where we hardly used the car as could wander to everything we needed. We also kayaked on the river using a local company - apparently we were quite speedy and it was a lot of fun, especially when Dad had to go in and rescue the craft that became jammed on the rocks. The Sunday market is glorious; you can almost reach the tantalising produce from the windows, and the house is next door to a great pizza restaurant and in the other direction you can sample glorious Noble Pies. Clare and Tony dropped in to clean and monitor the pool - they are local and obviously competent and caring owners, and very friendly; I felt that any issues (there weren't) would be sorted immediately. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable, relaxing experience, a proper break, and immersion into proper French culture in the beautiful medieval town of St Antonin Noble Val, surrounded by the soaring steep gorge sides of the Aveyron River.

  • An amazing find!

Very atmospheric house in the middle of woodland and with private access to the river. Beautifully renovated house that has been thoughtfully decorated to gel with its surroundings. We swam every day in the river and the canoe was the icing on the cake!
