Excellent luxury self-catering property

5 of 5
We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week stay in this excellent self-catering property in Puligny-Montrachet. The house has been lovingly renovated and is presented beautifully. The location is excellent for exploring the Cote d'Or and has an excellent local boulangerie within easy walking distance. Quality of communication from Peter and Lucy is absolutely first class. The house website and guest only section is well conceived and very informative. We would have no hesitation in recommending this property.

A lovely cottage in a lovely part of France

5 of 5
We spent 6 days in the property in Fontaines. Michelle and Claude were welcoming , friendly and helpful. It was clear that they wanted to make sure we had a pleasant stay. They managed to strike the correct balance between making sure all was well without being intrusive. We were left apricots from the garden and it is obvious[from the visitors book]that they give produce from the garden to all their guests. The cottage is ideal for two people. It is clean and offers a high quality at a very reasonable price. It was very hot during our visit so the addition of air-conditioning both upstairs and down was a great feature. The garden is gorgeous [and huge] with several private seated areas where you can read or just sit and think. We wanted to visit the region to experience a stage of the Tour de France, concluding at Nuit St George. We had a great time and saw the winner at the finish line. However, Burgundy provided so much more - clean and picturesque scenery, beautiful wine and many historical buildings especially Chateaus. Château de Germolles is about 10 minutes away - the guide was fantastically informative & pleasant, giving us a full on enjoyable lecture linking England and Burgundy's history-is recommended. We didn't have nearly enough time to see everything the area has to offer.
