Make A Holiday Rental Cottage in Mas-Cabardes, France, Your Home Away From Home

Lying in the Aude department of Languedoc-Roussillon, in southern France, is the village of Mas-Cabardes. Just 20 km from the department capital of Carcassonne, this is the perfect destination if you are seeking to get away from it all. The atmosphere is peaceful, and the inhabitants of the village are very friendly. The best way to enjoy your stay here, is to book a holiday rental cottage in Mas-Cabardes. Tastefully furnished and decorated, it contains all that you need to feel at home from the moment that you arrive. Please note, that you will need the use of a vehicle during your stay.

Things to Do on Holiday in Mas-Cabardes, France

There are many activities that you can try during your holiday in Mas-Cabardes, and many of them revolve around the great outdoors. You can cycle and hike through unspoilt countryside, take horse back rides or even play golf. In addition to this, there are a number of leisure lakes within easy access, and some of these have manmade sandy beaches. Sunbathing under the summer sun and going for a dip in the lake will leave memories that last a lifetime.

Places to Visit on Holiday in Mas-Cabardes, France

Of the many places and attractions that you can visit from your self catering accommodation in Mas-Cabardes, the nearby city of Carcassonne should be the first. An historic city with a fascinating past, its Medieval walled fortress area is truly magnificent, and draws tourists from all over France and beyond. Other ideas for places to visit include the pretty villages of Montolieu and Saissac. Further afield, a day trip to Perpignan should not be ruled out, and once there, you could drive up and down the coast in either direction, marvelling at the scenery.

Weather in Mas-Cabardes, France

The south of France is well known for its good weather, and generally enjoys a Mediterranean climate. The summers are warm, with average daytime highs of 26 degrees Celsius, and the winters mild, with daytime averages of 11 degrees. These are only the averages, though, and just as the temperature in the summer can exceed 30 degrees, so, during the winter, can you enjoy days where it is 14 degrees or more. Certainly better than the UK at a similar time of year! Rainfall is not a significant factor, with around 800mm falling through the entire year, but mainly between late autumn and early spring.

Travel to Mas-Cabardes, France

There are two main transportation alternatives that you should consider if booking a holiday in Mas-Cabardes, and these are whether you should drive or fly. If you are flying, then you will most likely use Perpignan airport (PGF) and regular Ryanair flights come in from London Stansted (STN). The other alternative is to drive from the UK, and whilst the 12 hour journey from the port of Calais is not short by any means, it does give you the use of a car during your stay.

superb accommodation with stunning views

5 of 5
We stayed as a family group covering 4 generations age from 80 down to 2, and this house hit the spot for us; it is generously apportioned so we had space to spread out and nicely furnished but not to the extent that we were worried about grandchildren ruining the furniture. The pool is lovely. There was an internet connection problem while we were there, but the support provided by caretaker Sarah was excellent and the issue was quickly resolved. It's just a 20 minute drive into Carcassonne (which you can see in the distance from the terrace) - we would have no hesitation staying here again.

Quirky place. Veiws from terrace amazing.

The gite was unusual with lots of stairs up and down. In the most beautiful countryside and fantastic views from the rooftop terrace. Wish we could have had small table and folding chairs up there instead of only 2 sun loungers. If lying on them you can't see the views and being 72 I would prefer some nice chairs to make the most of that beautiful terrace. The bbq was in an enclosed garden with no views at all I understand you can't have the bbq anywhere else but would have liked to take our food up to rooftop terrace to enjoy. The only comfortable chairs were in the lounge area and that had no sun or views at all. Some aspects of the place needed a good clean and we had to do some kitchen cleaning eg. oven to make it useable. Anne and Eric were good hosts and we liked them very much. Communication was fine with Anne but difficult when only Eric was there as he has no english and my french is pretty poor!
