A wonderful family holiday home

This is a perfect resort for families with children. A wonderful warm pool, brilliantly equipped house, and great walks for those minded to do so.

A spacious and picturesque period property set in peaceful countryside

4 of 5
We had two weeks of glorious weather in this quiet, relaxing house, the rooms were spacious and the property easily accommodated a dozen people. The house has been sympathetically decorated and was comfortable. A couple of minor problems with the hot water and the pool were quickly sorted out by the owner who was helpful and easy to contact throughout our stay. We found some lovely countryside to visit in easy cycling distance and some good fishing in both the Garonne and the canal which runs alongside it. The area is rural and unspoilt with a good variety of wildlife literally on your doorstep. The only negative thing that could possibly be said of this area is that it is perhaps a little too quiet. Whilst there are several supermarkets in easy reach there is not much choice of restaurants and their opening times are a little limited making it important to plan ahead if you intend to eat out. We would recommend this property to anyone seeking a holiday in comfortable surroundings where you are able to completely unwind.

Apartment was full of character, large rooms, well appointed facilities, with lovely outdoor space

5 of 5
Easy to find location, facilities on offer were suitable for us as a family of four with plenty of space to spare, rooms were large, airy with lovely features. Bathroom & En-Suite were beautifully appointed along with a lovely kitchen/diner. The pool was excellent and we were lucky enough to use it most days with the weather mostly sunny and very warm. We had easy access to local supermarkets / food outlets within minutes of the apartment. We found the local towns of Duras, Argen, Bergerac within easy commute, also catching the train from Marmande into Bourdeaux for the day was fun even with our limited French - nice to experience public transport being clean & on time. Bourdeaux was stunning especially the miroir d'eau which was a family favourite - the children spent ages walking through the water - welcome relief from the heat - combined with a lovely riverside promenade. France was a relaxing change, local people were helpful, accommodating - well worth the visit. Stephens Family - July / August 2016.
