We had three very enjoyable weeks here. Jean-Luc is a lovely host, discreet but available and very helpful when required. The property was clean and well presented and as described. The 'little touches' such as the very useful notelets emphasised the care that has gone into the presentation of the property. There is a lot of space and the summer kitchen and covered external space are excellent options in addition to the garden space where there is also shade available. You have the option of a completely restful holiday or, as we prefer, something a little more active in exploring the region and its culture. We made full use of the 72 hour Bordeaux City Pass and could easily have spent more time there. We found it best to take the train from St Andre de Cubzac to Bordeaux, an easy 25 minutes or so. Alternatively there is the park and ride system using the trams. Driving in Bordeaux is horrendous. We dropped our son at St Jean railway station and needed the 3 hours we had in hand!

  • Stunning home with tons of outside space - a wonderful relaxing holiday

We were 2 families with 3 teenage kids and a dog - stayed for 9 days in August during intense heatwave. The house itself is gorgeous - stylish and practical - and everything was clean and well equipped. We had a brilliant stay - the kids loved the pool and there are plenty of comfy loungers for relaxing, the dog was in her element having so much space to run about, every evening was a joy eating outside on the veranda and the bed mattresses are the best I've slept on. I'm listing some tiny drawbacks - they didn't matter to us but they may to you: Mobile coverage is patchy and Wi-Fi is non-existent (not the owner's fault), the property is near a highway with some traffic noise (shielded by trees and just the odd shoosh of a passing car with occasional noisy motorbike), there was only one toilet (but a second is being installed so will likely be there when you book) and the kitchen sink is easily blocked with food (thanks Jean Charles for fixing!). There is also a deposit to pay and this took us several weeks to be refunded, but this - again - is down to the booking site and not the owner. However, it's something to be aware of. As I say - we absolutely loved it and our holiday is a precious memory forever. We had a couple of trips to the sea and to a nearby lake, but the best time we had was just relaxing at the house, hanging out by the pool, cooking and barbecuing and enjoying the weather.
