  • A truly wonderful little Gite
    5 of 5

We have just had the most wonderful week in this Gite. The house is clean, filled with charm and equipped with everything you need. Upon arrival we were welcomed with a bottle of wine and local chestnut jam. The pool was wonderful: salt water which was a nice surprise so no nasty chemical smell. The view from both the Gite and the pool area was amazing. My family included a 4 year old and a 7 year old.... they had so much fun in the pool and there were games and puzzles in the cupboard which they enjoyed finding. We could happily walk into Largentière, easy walk down into town but a little more challenging on the way back up! But the 4&7 year olds managed so it is worth leaving the car behind! The owner, Sabine, could not have been more helpful. She helped us arrange pony trekking for our children and remembered it was my daughter’s birthday on the last day and popped round with a little present! How lovely. We would recommend this Gite to anyone: families or couples, it is the base for a wonderful holiday. We hope to return to the Ardeche in the future, when we do this Gite would be our first stop. Thank you Sabine xx

  • The Little House at Jaujac - a wonderful experience
    5 of 5

It was magnificent, well appointed, clean with excellent walks from the house to the Coupe de Jaujac, the village and the hills opposite. The Little House was lovely with everything we needed and the terrace offered magnificent views across the Lignon valley to the peaks of Ladenne and Courcoussat. I thoroughly recommend this property to anyone wanting a restful (or energetic) holiday in the Ardeche. The village offers a wide range of facilities with two excellent boulangeries - one selling a wide range of 'bio' goods and home made excellent sweet chestnut biscuits. For a long day out aimed at rail enthusiasts (like me) then there is the Vivarais Railway operating from Tournon sur Rhone station - we drove over the hills via Vals les Bains, Mezilhac, Le Cheylard and Lamastre. Wonderful metre gauge railway the surviving part of a once extensive system. We shall definitely plan to stay at the Little House again. Thank you Kim and Claude. Richard & Alison Watts
