  • Lovely villa ideally located for access to several great beaches
    5 of 5

Spatious, well appointed villa in a small complex of 5 or 6 detached properties, ideally located for exploring The Balagne. Our kids loved the large pool which is well thought out with toilets and shower, and plenty of shade if needed. The local beach at Lozari is lovely, and has a beach cafe (just set back), rental outlet, and nice snorkelling at the west end. The beach is technically walkable, but it is a reasonable hike across a main road with beach kit so we drove (plenty of parking). More beautiful beaches stretch both ways along the coast, including the gorgeous beach at Ostriconi with its stunning backdrop. On a practical note there is a well stocked Spar Supermarket very close to the apartment, in a little complex of shops and restaurants, and the WiFi in the apartments was excellent. Would highly recommend. Definitely need a car.

  • Very peaceful little house

Down a long track in the middle of the maquis, this property is well equipped and exactly as described. The track is a bit rough, but then you are in a very peaceful location with great views towards the nearby hills. The main rooms face roughly north meaning that they do not get too hot from the sun provided the shutters are used on the western side, but the large deck on two sides ensures that you can take the sun if you want to. Good quality loungers and table set are provided. The second bedroom is adequate but it houses the water tank and washing machine within the wardrobe, which is still large enough to leave plenty of storage space. However, it is effectively an internal room with just a high level lantern light into the adjacent barn area. The lounge, kitchenette and main bedroom are well appointed and comfortable and each has doors to the deck. The excellent shower/wash area is an open annex off the main bedroom and there is a separate toilet in the centre of the building. The house is just off the main T 30 highway and although there are only limited facilities nearby, there are good supermarkets within 10 to 15 minutes in either direction. There are a couple of restaurants in the Lama area, and although Lama itself is small, it is has a very well kept medieval town at its heart that is well worth a visit. Francoise was very responsive during the booking process and for arranging arrival and departure and was an ideal hostess. Many thanks to her for a great stay.
