A lovely countryside retreat with great facilities yet near enough to amenities and sights

5 of 5
This is a great rental made special in two particular aspects. Firstly, the owners, Paul and Christine, live next door and are happy to go the extra mile to make you feel welcome. On our first night we arrived late and they provided us with a starter kit including a bottle of wine and also cooked us a hot meal. Paul also keeps a boat in Marseilles and is willing to give a tour of the calanques for a fee. Secondly, the garden is wonderful. The pool is perfect and, as the description states, there are ping pong, table football, a volleyball area and a football area. The lawn is well maintained and the garden is lovely. It was extremely hot when we were there so we really only used the pool and table tennis but in cooler weather, the facilities such as football and volleyball areas would be ideal for teenagers and children.

A wonderful spot

5 of 5
This is a lovely place. Set back from the main road in a large expanse of garden full of shady trees with a good size swimming pool, it is a beautiful and tranquil spot. There are two houses to let on the property but they are set well apart. They are well equipped with everything necessary and each has a lovely shady terrace where meals can be eaten without being overlooked. Very comfortable lounger chairs are available. It is just 3 kms to the nearest town of L'Isle sur la Sorgue, which is very pretty, has a decent supermarket, plenty of restaurants and an interesting and packed market twice a week. Conveniently, there is an excellent bakery and cake shop on the way into town with easy parking so you can get your daily fix of delicious croissants etc without having to cope with the traffic in town. This is the first year that Sabine the owner has been letting her two houses so they are newly furbished and immaculate. She is a charming and attentive host, with an adorable dog (children will want to make a big fuss of him). The water in the swimming pool was warm and refreshing (June) and very clean (thanks to a robot which is regularly put through its paces). The house that I rented only had French TV but Sabine told me she intends to get satellite or cable for it. The other I understand has it already. I can highly recommend this holiday let.
