Beautiful cottage with fantastic views

5 of 5
The cottage was spotlessly clean on arrival and although we didn't have the best week of weather the views from this property are stunning. Owners very friendly and helpful. Would recommend

A wonderful very old, rustic, characterful house

4 of 5
We booked this especially for the house old character as a base for walking in the Haute Pyrenees and it was as we had anticipated. It is exactly as described - rustic, full of antiques but very well equipped. The house has very good facilities for 6 adults, and plenty of good kitchenware to make cooking and family meals a pleasure. Although the bathroom décor is worn/rustic and extra care should be taken not spill water due to their age, the showers are good and facilities adequate. The beds appeared to have comfortable new mattresses. 4 of our family were young people between 18 and 22yrs old and they loved it too - and they got good phone/data roaming reception. The village of Borce is equally quaint with mainly interesting medieval buildings along very narrow paths and steps between them. There were two festivals in the village square (virtually outside the house) while we were there which we were welcome to join in the music and dancing if we had wished. The bar in the village a few steps away provided fresh bread every morning and essential food and toiletry products if you had forgotten something. The area is perfect as a walking base into the mountains and footpaths around as well as enjoying many local attractions particularly the zoo and water sports. We would recommend a stay here if you are looking for something a bit rustic and quirky, but well equipped.
