Exceptionally generous home to stay in ..

This is a real family home. So much so that you felt the family had popped out for a short while and were returning shortly with cakes to enjoy with coffee. We have never stayed in such a personal home. It was a privilege to be so trusted by each of them. We had access to their personal bits and pieces left throughout the house, and our granddaughter had the best time playing with the daughter and sons' many. It offers easy access to Paris by train, but do ensure you take Euro change with you as we were unable to use our cards in the ticket machine. The Palace of Versailles is very close also. A super stay and highly recommended.

This high quality property is managed by a very pleasant and professional bilingual couple - Annie’s English is very good and put us to shame. The pictures on the site provide a good representation of the property although they somehow make it seem smaller than it is. We have never rented a property where the owner has tried so hard, and so successfully, to meet every need in advance. There is fast and reliable Wi-Fi (45 – 65 Mbs), 3 TVs, a radio with MP3 player, games, 3 toilets and 2 bathrooms with plenty of good quality towels supplied. , The VERY well equipped kitchen came with every utensil you could hope for and, finding a supply of salt, pepper, olive oil and milk on arrival was very welcoming and, made a huge difference. We were pleasantly surprised to find slippers, dressing gowns, a Dyson fan, as well as generous quantities of the toiletries one would hope to find, if not expect. The garden came equipped with high quality outdoor furniture of which we made much use. Annie & Philippe were both very welcoming and, whilst they own the property next door, they were careful to give us our privacy once the keys had been exchanged. The beds were comfortable and there was a good supply of bedding available. In the living room was a 3-seat sofa and two smaller armchairs (not best for taller adults) as well as a coffee table adapted from an old fashioned set of gigantic bellows. During our stay, we had an unexpected loss of the hot water supply; Annie and Phillipe could not have been more efficient in getting the problem resolved extremely quickly and effectively – In the meantime, we were also offered the use of their shower had we had wanted. Despite being only 5 minutes’ drive from the N12 and 10 minutes’ drive from the nearest hypermarket/fuel station (E.Leclerc in Saint-Lubin de Jonerets), the Gite is in a very rural location. It is also approximately an hour’s drive from the major tourist sites of Versailles, Chartres, Rouen, Paris, Giverny, all of which we visited, as well as the more local towns of Laons and Brezolles. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this property to anyone looking to visit this area.
