The house was perfect and our hosts did everything possible to make our stay comfortable, e.g. extra trouble with stair gates for the kids, high chair, basic groceries, lots of information on local area etc. They pay a lot of attention to detail, the decor is tasteful, there is an amazing collection of DVD's (which we didn't get time to watch!), hammocks on the veranda, enough beach toys for the kids and it is set on a wonderful plot, feels as if the trees are reaching into the house. The beach is amazing with a lot of tidal pools and white sand, perfect for walks or a quick swim. It is next to a forest with a cycle path which stretches for 6 km to the ferry - we rented bikes and went for nearly daily rides and had picnics in the forest. We found Soulac pretty and perfect for a beach holiday, market, shops and restaurants, but felt authentic and never like a tourist trap. Would definitely recommend - for couples or as a family holiday with children.

This villa is really excellent! It has a lovely heated pool where one of my grandchildren learned to swim. The whole family felt that this villa was the best we have stayed in over recent years. It's close to a lovely safe beach, close to restaurants and close enough to the centre of the village for early morning baguettes. Also, the Gironde weather was great. There are very few places where a car is not essential - and this is one! The villa and location "ticked a lot of boxes" for us and we plan to return.
