We were a party of 12 extended family members (6 couples aged from 17 to 82). The setting was perfect for us. 250 yards from the nearest property, the gorgeous Chateau de Benauge, set in a natural valley. The nearest village, Cadillac (about a 7-8 minute car ride) has good range of small grocery shops and a good range of restaurants. We particularly like Les Remparts. The neighbouring village of Beguey has a large supermarket with all you could want and thats still only 10-12 minutes from the house. To be honest though we mostly had evening meals in as the kitchen facilities are very good. The property itself has 6 good size bedrooms, each with a shower and/or bathroom, plus an extra pair of beds on an elevated area. The house is well appointed with plenty of space. The pool is a good size and there was enough garden for a few ball games. I would definitely recommend this house if you like to be away from 'hustle and bustle', you want plenty of space and being in the country. We had a great time here.
The Gite was great, fully equipped and with aircon. Christophe and Nadia were very welcoming (Christophe speaking English was a bonus), nothing was too much trouble for them. The parkland around the Gite was peaceful and interesting to walk around, with goats and chickens to enjoy, and the pool a delight. The small town of Auros only a couple of minutes away has an excellent restaurant, pizza takeaway, pharmacy, boucherie and boulangerie. An excellent place to branch out and visit the coast and 'Caves' and beautiful mediaeval Chateaux, Towns and Cities.
A fantastic family friendly place to stay for you to explore the region and follow the Bordeaux route de vins. You will also get a warm wet-nosed welcome from 'Cayenne' the Boschers' lovely dog.
