Make a self catering apartment or holiday rental on Le Mans, France your home away from home

As well as being famous for its 24-hour car rally, Le Mans is an excellent tourist base for exploring Normandy as well as the nearby Loire valley. Le Mans itself has one of the most beautiful old quarters in France, with a remarkable Cathedral and a wealth of royal history. The city's love of cars began in 1873 when local bell-maker, Amadée Bollée, built his first steam-driven car. The Renault factory continues this business today in southwest Le Mans. Further afield there are many small villages and some magnificent chateaux to visit.

Explore the Old Town

The Old Town of Le Mans is quite unique. It stills hides behind its Roman walls and has plenty of winding alleyways and old buildings which all have great individual character. Stroll beside the city's Sarthe River and explore the central Place de la Republique. A visit to the magnificent Gothic Cathedral is a must.

Visit the Theme Parks

There is something for every age and taste around your Le Mans holiday rental, including a number of theme parks. The Papea City has a Wild West theme with thrilling rides and "Les Atlantiques" is a water-themed park with many pools, chutes and slides.

Exquisite setting, delightful owners, first class facilities

5 of 5
We have just returned from a wonderful week, with extended family ranging in age from 1 to 83! The property was a delight to stay in with everything provided of the highest quality and everyone was able to relax and enjoy the extensive grounds, activities provided and, of course, the pool. The ground floor bedroom was a Godsend too for my mother who cannot do the stairs. David looked after us so well, nothing was too much trouble and it was a pleasure to meet the owner, Hugues, on the day we left. The local towns and villages have everything you need if you don't want to go far (which we didn't, given the temperature and our elderly relatives) but we enjoyed the market on Wednesday in Connerré and the delights of the boulangeries in Tuffé! The only downside was that the week flew by and we hadn't booked for longer. We will be back, though.. Mille mercis, monsieur et madame de Vauplane, et à la prochaine!

Peaceful French Gite

5 of 5
Looking for a no frills getaway in a beautiful location this is the place for you. Ideal for Le Mans which is an easy 25 minute drive away. The owner Benoit lives on site in a separate house. Very helpful but never intrusive. His cocker spaniel is very friendly and often nips around when the bbq goes on! The house is set on its own in its own grounds and not overlooked. Gite itself is clean and has all the basics you need. Large fridge is a bonus. Be mindful the Gite is owned by a French man not an expat so the furnishings and colour schemes may be a bit strange to us English, as is the half bath. Plenty of hot water. Take your own plug converters. Sitting out at nightime under the pergola was a delight. Excellent value. If you are looking for a little piece of French country living this could well be the place for you.
