Make a self catering apartment or holiday rental on Le Mans, France your home away from home

As well as being famous for its 24-hour car rally, Le Mans is an excellent tourist base for exploring Normandy as well as the nearby Loire valley. Le Mans itself has one of the most beautiful old quarters in France, with a remarkable Cathedral and a wealth of royal history. The city's love of cars began in 1873 when local bell-maker, Amadée Bollée, built his first steam-driven car. The Renault factory continues this business today in southwest Le Mans. Further afield there are many small villages and some magnificent chateaux to visit.

Explore the Old Town

The Old Town of Le Mans is quite unique. It stills hides behind its Roman walls and has plenty of winding alleyways and old buildings which all have great individual character. Stroll beside the city's Sarthe River and explore the central Place de la Republique. A visit to the magnificent Gothic Cathedral is a must.

Visit the Theme Parks

There is something for every age and taste around your Le Mans holiday rental, including a number of theme parks. The Papea City has a Wild West theme with thrilling rides and "Les Atlantiques" is a water-themed park with many pools, chutes and slides.

We can't wait to go back...

5 of 5
We live a very hectic life here in the UK and fell in love with the French lifestyle some time ago when visiting Avingon. Le Petit Bois is the perfect place to slip straight into the French way of living. Its rural setting is beautiful, there are so many great walks on the door step and the house and grounds itself are incredible. I defy anyone to go to Le Petit Bois and not relax... We went in the winter and loved having a roaring log fire going after a long walk in the woods. I would encourage everyone to see this part of rural France in the spring and autumn, as there is something very special about this part of the world at these times of year. We shall go back, in fact, we can't wait!

This is a truly unique holiday experience, nothing like we have ever encountered before!

5 of 5
Despite studying all the pictures and data thoroughly before travelling, we were still unprepared for the truly wonderful setting we had been fortunate enough to book! The location is very quiet and isolated, but the tower had everything we needed, including wi-fi and British TV, a real home from home. The kitchen was very well equipped, and cooking, food storage and even a dishwasher and washing machine made everything a breeze. There was plentiful hot water too, and a proper bath in addition to the shower. The bed was very comfortable and everything was of good quality and very clean. The owner's friendly cat came to visit the tower, and the dog came to visit on my fishing trips. He was surprisingly well behaved for a big chap! We visited in October and had several frosty nights, but the tower was well heated and nobody "forced" me to venture out at first light to "Siberia Corner" to fish each day! I must admit that when booking French holidays I usually "manage" to have a lake reasonably close to visit, often on site! However, none have come close to this in size or potential. It is about 4 acres, surrounded by overhanging trees and extremely old. The stock is largely unknown, but, there was a stocking of mirror carp in January 2016 totalling 400 kgs. The fish added were between 8 and 14 kgs (around 17 - 30 lbs). There are some other common carp of unknown proportions and quantity but overall the stocking is fairly light. As there is a plentiful supply of naturals including mussels, snails and bloodworm the fishing is difficult. There has been very little angling done, but as it increases and more bait goes in, (good quality pellets and boilies), the fish will become easier to catch! There is a row boat available, and a little time spent exploring yields suitable areas to "lay traps". This is a very old lake set in woodland, and as such, there is a lot of silt present. However, there are plenty of firm areas to fish. Fishing for a few hours most (frosty) mornings was a real pleasure, and the highlight was the capture of a splendid mirror of 18lb 10oz, The first of the new fish stocked to be caught. We will be returning in Spring for another attempt at the uncaught leviathans! I must add, there is a small pool with small (ish) common carp available a few hundred yards up the lane which is ideal if you have limited time or just want everything a bit easier! Overall a great holiday with very friendly and helpful hosts. Thank you!

A fantastic get away in very relaxed and calming surroundings

5 of 5
We booked a 12 night stay and enjoyed every moment for beginning to end. Anita and Richard were the perfect hosts and really did look after us for the whole stay. The gite was very clean and comfortable and had all of the amenities and facilities that we needed. It accommodated seven very easily with enough space for everyone. The kitchen had everything we needed although the bbq was used more than anything. The morning croissants and baguettes were a perfect start to the day with the local supermarket only 8km away. The pool was superb and such a bonus as we had two very hot weeks. The local area is ideal for cycling although undulating country side makes it challenging on occasion and perfect for relaxing walks in the nearby forest. The bars and restaurant at the local lake in the forest, only 5km away, provides some night life if you need it.The local villages and country side are very pretty and well worth a trip out if you need to do more than relax by the pool. If you are looking for the perfect relaxing holiday in peaceful surroundings then I would thoroughly recommend a stay here. I am booking two more weeks for next year!
