Tastefully decorated, homely and charming country idyll

5 of 5
We had a lovely stay at this charming country cottage near Mérillac. The owners have exquisite taste with so many beautiful artefacts and brocante treasures and yet it’s so homely and comfortable, the kitchen is very well equipped, my husband loves to cook so this was great! our only criticism would be there are no curtains or blinds in the bedrooms so we were awake rather early! We know the area around Dinan and St Malo really well and it was great to revisit old haunts, it’s such a beautiful coastline: our favourite coastal spot is St Briac sur Mer which is just an hour from the cottage with wonderful foody shops and a great creperie called L’Hermine. Other towns we love to visit are Dinard, Cancale, Jugon les Lacs and Saint Souilliac but a walk round the sleepy rural lanes of Digouet was just as lovely!

Great property, perfect for two holidaying families and the dog.

4 of 5
Great rural location with enough amenities for provisions close by. Lounge and kitchen were good size to comfortably accommodate two families. Indoor pool provided plenty of entertainment as did the outside tennis court. Plenty of room outside to relax with a couple of wooden picnic tables and seats for any outside eating. A couple of good local restaurants in Merdrignac to the south and plenty more slightly further afield to the more touristy coastal areas of Erquy and St Malo.
