  • An Enjoyable Stay

The gite was ideal for one couple (though the single shower, accessed via one of the two bedrooms, could have been inconvenient for two couples). The only downside was the lack of WiFi. The setting was ideally quiet and peaceful, and M. & Mme Bailleul (the owners) could not have been more helpful and generous. They provided excellent information beforehand, and were extremely responsive during our stay. They provided us with tomatoes etc. from their own garden, and when I asked M. Bailluel for directions to the nearest station de gonflage he insisted on pumping up my tyres himself. Madiran itself has a boulangerie and one outstanding restaurant. An altogether excellent holiday.

We all had a lovely time at this amazing property. Best of all was the pool which was well used by us all, but was especially popular with the children 10 and 12. The garden was the best we've ever had. We visited a few local places, watched the Tour de France, which was our main reason for choosing this part of France, and at the end of our two weeks no-one wanted to leave.
