We had a lovely holiday at The Old Farmhouse. The layout of the house works well for multiple families and there is plenty of space to play outside and inside with the games room, bar area, gardens and paddocks. The house is well equipped- we found it easy to eat in and enjoyed making use of the BBQ when the weather allowed! Unfortunately the very British weather meant the pool was very cold and with children ranging from 18 months to 6 years old we didn’t manage to use it as much as we would like. The adults made good use of the hot tub but were a little confused about whether the kids could use it as it said no under 14s but in the guest book others had referenced children using it. Finally the WiFi was poor- I think this could be marketed more clearly as it states WiFi but in today’s world where the children and adults rely on it, it would be good to have full access to the internet rather than just in the games room which wasn’t always practical. As I’ve mentioned this could just be made clearer upon booking. All in all a nice property that might benefit from pool heating and WiFi to encourage future visits.

We had a delightful holiday at La Haute Haye. The house was large, bright and well equipped with comfortable beds and its three good sized bathrooms. We were two families and Grandmother and enjoyed our meals together at the large family table indoors as well as outside. The large sitting room was very comfortable for later in the evening, playing games and watching TV or DVDs. We all played tennis and had a wonderful time in the fabulous indoor pool. We played badminton and boules on the grass and the children played endlessly in the lovely grounds. Visits to Mont-St-Michel, the beaches at Erquy and Pleneuf Val Andree, beautiful Moncontour and the market at Lamballe were all highlights and we thought we were lucky with Langourla as our nearest village. This house was perfect for our multiple family holiday, satisfying young and old. There was a very nice information pack and a generous welcome pack for which we were grateful. However, we would have appreciated some instructions on the use of the robot pool cleaner for fear of doing something wrong, perhaps a new brush so we could more easily clean the excellent tennis court and up to date information on the shop in Langourla who needed our order for breakfast croissants the day before, also the visiting pizza man and fish and chips van in Langourla - day and time of arrival and departure and need to order pizzas so perhaps telephone number of van or at least knowing we would need to order and wait. These are, of course, minor niggles which in no way detracted from our amazing week at La Haute Haye. We appreciate that we were lucky to find such a beautifully renovated home in the quiet, peaceful Brittany countryside with space for us all and the facilities for both tennis and swimming which we all enjoy.
