  • Charming house in a great location

We had a wonderful vacation in this charming village home. The village itself is in a lovely location on the edge of the lake, complete with a Romanesque-style church, an 18th Century oil mill and a Grande Fontaine . There are bars/restaurants in the village, and a good selection of shops and a market nearby in Aups. There is a small beach and water sports rentals are possible in the summer. There are plenty of hiking trails nearby, and GR99 passes through the village. Les Gorges du Verdon are also nearby. The house itself is charming. Very nicely decorated with lovely decorative touches throughout. The terrace on the top floor is a great place to relax at the end of the day and watch the setting sun. All the bedrooms are a very good size. The lounge also has plenty of comfortable seating as well as a good variety of entertainment options. The kitchen has everything you could need to cater for the whole family. There is plenty of parking throughout the village. You can drive up to the front door to drop off or pick up heavy items, though you really won't have to walk very far. We wish we had been able to stay for longer, the house, the village, the area were just right for a perfect break. Celine and her family were wonderful hosts, answering all our questions and coming up with useful suggestions for things we could do, we hope to be able to return very soon.

  • Beautiful Quiet Location – Amazing Hosts!

We had a wonderful relaxing week at this lovely property. Monique & François were so friendly and helpful which really made the stay special. The property is in a beautiful location ‘off the beaten’ track and is so quiet and peaceful and hence the perfect place to escape from the crowds. The property is relatively small but we managed fine as a family of 4 (2 teenage kids) and loved the rustic nature of it and were not at all put off by the outside toilet and shower. In fact the shower was a fun experience with plenty of hot water available. We ate most meals outside on the ‘deck’ under the shade of a beautiful oak tree. To get to the property itself does require a 4x4 (which we didn’t have) but François was always around and able to drive us the 10 minutes or so from the property and along the track to our vehicle in the nearby village of Rougon and picks ups were easy too and just required calling François with 15 minutes notice. The Verdon Gorge is stunning and there was plenty to do and enjoy. Thank you François and Monique for an amazing week and all your kindness, we thoroughly recommend your retreat and your hospitality! Merci à vous deux! James and Neroli
