Make Holiday Rental Chalet in La Grave, France, Your Home Away From Home

La Grave is one of the most exciting ski resorts in France. It isn’t a normal resort like others in the Alps, it is a patrolled and lift serviced off-piste ski area, unique among its kind in Europe. The small town of La Grave is also interesting. The town is so high in the mountains that the traditional French wooden chalets were not possible due to a lack of trees. Instead the area displays more stone architecture for the houses and rental chalets, another reason why this quirky little French ski town is so unique. This town is very accessible, and there is a variety of self catering accommodation in La Grave ready for holiday makers.

The town services the resort, which is among the most exciting in Europe, which makes holidays in La Grave appeal to the very adventurous. With over 2,100m of skiing, La Grave has a lot of skiing available right from the chalet. The ski area is reachable through the gondola style lifts and a button lift at the top. From the top, it is possible to ski down the back of the mountain to the 2 Alps resort. Keep in mind that none of the ski area is actively maintained through grooming or avalanche control, it is only patrolled. So the skiing at La Grave is exceptional, and reserved for only serious skiers and snowboarders.

In the summer the surrounding area still features many glacier walks and hikes. Lovely little apartment

4 of 5
Bunk beds were a little wobbly, otherwise it is a lovely apartment. If the basement were heated it would make an excellent kit storage/drying area, but we were very happy staying there as it is. It is modern, well equipped & cosy. Plenty room for 2 or 3 people.
