Make A Holiday Rental Gite in La Chaume, France, Your Home Away From Home

Surrounded by rolling countryside and forests is the small village of La Chaume in Burgundy. If you are looking to step down a gear and take a relaxing break, then a holiday in La Chaume is just for you. Of course, there are no high rise hotels blighting the scenery in this area, and instead, a holiday rental gite in La Chaume is the preferred choice of accommodation. Tastefully decorated, well furnished and coming with all mod cons, it is more a home away from home than anything else.

Things to Do on Holiday in La Chaume, France

Although one of the attractions of a holiday in la Chaume is the relaxed way of life, you may like to do some sort of activities whilst there. There are cycle and foot paths which link the village with others, and you can also cycle along the quiet country lanes for miles. The Loire River is not far away, and here you can hire a canoe, or try your hand at fishing. For other activities such as tennis or golf, head to nearby Dijon.

Places to Visit on Holiday in La Chaume, France

There are many places that you can get out and see during your holiday in La Chaume. There are many castles or chateaux in various states of repair scattered throughout the area, and they are certainly worth visiting. Another idea for a trip out is to take a tour of a vineyard. Burgundy is obviously well known for its wines, and by taking a tour, you would have the chance to learn a little more about it, and of course try a glass or two! If you fancy a change from the calm surroundings of your self catering accommodation in La Chaume then visit the nearby city of Dijon, with its centuries’ old architecture, restaurants and shops.

The weather in this part of France can be broadly described as being warm and hot during the Summer and mild to cold during the winter. The summer months are the most popular time to take a holiday in La Chaume, and August in particular is the peak, due to the weather frequently being in the top end of the twenties degrees Celsius. Rainfall is fairly minimal during this time. The late Autumn to Winter can see more unsettled weather, with storms and even frosts being possible as early as mid September.

Travel to La Chaume, France

There are three good options to consider when thinking of how to travel to your self catering accommodation in La Chaume. These are to fly, drive or take the train. If flying, you may wish to use the Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris (CDG) with its connections worldwide. Visitors from the UK might like to use British Airways who fly from London Heathrow (LHR). If driving, your point of entry is likely to be Calais, and the car may come in useful during your holiday in La Chaume. If travelling by train, the journey time would take less than four hours from the south of England, and the nearest station would be in Chatillion Sur Seine just 25 km away.

A very welcoming home in an interesting village picturesque landscape and fascinating region .

the landscape here is wide and beautiful. The village is old and interesting. The surrounding area is full of potential activities - hiking cycling wine-tasting visiting chateaux, gardens , churches and many-layered towns some dating back almost 10 centuries. Ten days were not enough. The house is very welcoming - everything you need and some luxury touches. It needs only a few of these because its main asset is the romance of being in an old stone house looking out over Burgundian fields and vines on the edge of a real functioning village. The lack of shops and restaurants means you need a car but villages here are only two or three kilometres apart so walkers and cyclists can bring home fresh bread. This was a great opportunity to get to know a little bit of France . I got the impression the owners trusted their guests and welcomed us.

Wonderful

Where to start with Les Pommiers ? From the outset booking was easy and Nicola & Nick were so helpful and friendly, answering my many questions quickly and in detail. The house itself is fantastic, and if anything bigger than the pictures would have you believe. It is warm & welcoming and really well equipped. We were lucky enough to be able to enjoy an early evening BBQ one night but other times were spent at the large table enjoying large family prepared meals which is an invaluable experience. The garden is beautiful and full of interesting nooks and crannies but still able to be enjoyed by children & adults alike. As a family from ages 8-82, including three teenagers, we all loved our stay here. The house is spacious enough for a party to be able to enjoy their own space but also to come together socially. It was an absolute pleasure to stay here and the effort that Nicola & Nick have put into this house is obvious and creates a distinct feeling of 'home' and relaxation as soon as you walk through the door. We will be back !
