Holidaymakers searching for holiday rentals in Juan-les-Pins also enquired about Sardinia villas, villas in Sicily and apartments in Nice

Make a holiday apartment in Juan-les-Pins your home away from home

Juan-les-Pins accommodation is nestled in the corner made by the Cap d'Antibes, a promontory hiccup in the coastline between Cannes and Nice. Well known as a stomping ground of the holidaying rich and famous, movie mogul Jack Warner maintained a home here, as did Frank Jay Gould. Peter Sarstedt even referred to it in the number one "Where Do You Go To (My Lovely)", saying it was the holiday destination of choice for his jet-setting (but unrequited) love! Needless to say then that rentals in Juan-les-Pins enjoy a privileged position on the Cote d'Azur – this stretch of coast benefits from natural sandy beaches, while Cannes, for example, has to ship its sand in to cover the natural shingle. When not lazing on the sand, the area is also a great base for those keen on golf.

Juan-les-Pins apartments and villas typically come with laundry facilities, internet access, and kitchens equipped with dishwashers. Some have access to a pool or tennis court, and most offer onsite parking and private gardens. As for interiors, most are bright and airy, decorated with modern fixtures and fittings – though there is the occasional villa overflowing with shabby-chic French charm.

Things to do

Outdoor pursuits: Active guests enjoy the central location of Juan-les-Pins rentals, as they are superbly positioned for watersports on the sea, but never too far from the mountains inland. Hiking and biking through the foothills of the Alps are common in the summer, while winter guests can enjoy one of the many nearby ski resorts on the higher elevations a short drive away.

Beaches: The beaches around Juan-les-Pins villas are widely regarded as the best on the French Riviera, thanks to their naturally fine sand. Many of the other beaches up and down the coast have shingle beaches, which can be both hard on the feet and uncomfortable to lie on. Expect plenty of bars and cafés as a backdrop.

Nightlife: The nightlife of the Cote d'Azur is famed for its excess in both opulence and price, and the finer things in life are part and parcel of Juan-les-Pins. It's all sunsets and scenic restaurants, frequented by well-to-do French families. For a quieter time, head inland; the villages in the foothills of the hinterland can also be much more reasonably priced. Grasse, for instance, is just a 40-minute drive or train ride away, and offers a fine range of restaurants with even finer views. If its subtler charms are preferred, guests may want to consider HomeAway's selection of holiday homes there.

Shopping: Shopping on the French Riviera is, of course, legendary. This is where the likes of Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor, and indeed James Bond, preferred to shop. Browse the selection of trendy boutiques, or, if less fictionally rich, enjoy the place just as much by engaging in the simultaneously free and indulgent pastime of people watching and window shopping.

Culture: Picasso lived in neighbouring Antibes for six months of his life, so there is a museum there dedicated to his life and work. Nearby Vallauris also has a Picasso museum to accompany another dedicated to the Italian painter Magnelli, and a ceramics museum which reflects the strong local trade. Juan-les-Pins also hosts a respected jazz festival every July.

Weather in Juan-les-Pins

Year-round sunshine can best describe the climate of Juan-les-Pins, with over 300 days of clear blue skies every year. The summers can get hot, but temperatures are moderated by sea breezes, keeping them down to the low-30s. Winters can see snow on the nearby mountains, but daytime temperatures rarely dip into single digits. The wettest time is autumn, generally because of the thunderstorms.

Travel to Juan-les-Pins

Nice Cote d'Azur Airport is 8 miles from Juan-les-Pins, tremendously convenient for a major international hub. Nice is served by all major and many of the budget airlines. Driving to the south of France isn't a particularly tall order if guests have a couple of days to kill, and the road trip can be part of the experience. Trains are fast too; with the right connections, London to Nice can be done in nine hours.

                                  Absolutely marvelous property

The property is as exactly as described, in a brilliant location and beautifully maintained and clean. The apartment is very well equipped and we could not find fault with anything. I will have no hesitation in recommending that anyone should stay here. Ivan made the whole process of arrival and departure stress free and easy only adding to the pleasure of the holiday. Local facilities are excellent with a supermarket and restaurants on the doorstep. Avold the bistro bar in the square - big rip off with their prices. The nearest pizzeria was excellent.

Beautiful apartment with stunning sea views in a great location. Easy access to Monaco and all the coastal towns on the French Riviera using trains or buses. Apartment contained everything we needed for a family holiday. Welcoming and approachable property manager. We can't wait to come back.

                                  Small but perfectly formed

                                  5 of 5
This is an elegant little apartment, very comfortable for two of us but could have fitted another person or maybe even two easily enough. The living area is doubled by a big south facing terrace with splendid views. 10 minute walk along the sand to the beach restaurants or just the lift down to the bars and restaurants below. LeClerc supermarket also below should wine supplies run low!
