Idyllic

5 of 5
We had a wonderful 2 weeks in Civrac. The house is in a really tranquil hamlet on top of a hill so there are amazing views over to the Gironde estuary. The house is really tastefully decorated and with good facilities and is a cool refuge when the sun gets too hot. Highlight for the kids was the pool, where they spent most of the holiday ! A few days we were at the nearby beaches, including the massive cote sauvage which is a long Atlantic beach with some great waves. Nearby towns were historic and delightful we visited numerous interesting markets and did some wine and cognac tasting. The house has 2 barbeque areas and numerous outside seating areas to stay out late and dine under the stars. It is about a 15min walk through the vineyards to get to the bakery in the mornings, which is a wonderful walk to start the day. Owner could not have been more helpful and the only negative point I can make is that the time went by so fast! Will definitely be back.

“Just perfect!”

5 of 5
Great location in the countryside, surrounded by many sunflower fields, it was picturesque! The Gite had everything we needed and was very comfortable and homely. The girls particularly loved the Den! The garden had plenty of space to run around. Swings and hammocks for us to enjoy, and of course the beautiful pool. It was all one depth which meant the grown ups could swim comfortably, and the kids could play safely on the floats etc. There were also other games/puzzles/books provided inside the house, as well as outside games like table tennis etc. There was also an Ostrich farm nearby. The owner was very proud to show off her Ostriches and to tell you everything you needed to know about them. Also, another restaurant called GIGI'S was close by, we went on a Saturday evening and enjoyed a lovely meal, and it had a great atmosphere. Mark and Sandra couldn't have made us feel any more welcome, they really made our holiday. Our girls were really taken with their dogs, Ruby and Daisy, who were so gently and friendly. All in all, it was a great Gite, and not too far away from the beaches and places of interest. Mark and Sandra were great hosts, and we all had a very relaxing holiday! Thank you from the Meekums family.

Beautiful Chateau, excellent for groups& families!

5 of 5
The chateau is absolutely stunning, in a beautiful region of France. The chateau is beautiful and fully equipped, very spacious and excellently maintained. It has everything you could want for a would be perfect for a celebration, family holiday, or a group holiday, with amenities such as a hot tub, pool, games rooms, huge living spaces, library etc. We had a fantastic time and would completely recommend to a group of people, you would not need anything else but if you want to venture out it is also in a beautiful region, near to beaches and only an hour from Bordeaux. There are lots of things to do in the area surrounding too, as it is in the Cognac region. 10/10 would recommend to anyone, really great place.
