Peaceful situation

4 of 5
The gite was very clean and comfortable and in a lovely setting, very rural and quiet yet within two minutes of the village. The proprietors were very helpful and friendly. Not clear in the publicity that we had to pay for the use of linen which was advertised as "provided" but apart from that all was well. There are lots of things to do in the area and we strongly recommend the village butcher if barbecuing!

Lovely 2 bed cottage on the Dordogne River

5 of 5
The cottage is in a wonderful location on the Dordogne River, it is very well equipped house and kitchen and felt like home during our stay. We were there early May and the little garden gets the sun all day and evening so we could eat outside. It was also lovely to sit out in the evening with a glass of wine and watch the swallows. There are lovely walks in both directions straight from the door and less than 5 min walk to get bread, pastries or wine from the local shop (bigger supermarkets or local markets are a short drive away). The hydro electric dam with fish lift, a short walk along the river, is fascinating and the canal, vineyards and little villages either side of the cottage made nice walks and good exploring. The cottage is very private but in a pretty little hamlet with other houses so not lonely and parking is easy. The Dordogne is stunning, the owner who lives in the village was very kind and the cottage lovely we will definitely go back.
