  • A Paradise!

From the moment we set eyes on the house, we were utterly enchanted. There was a sense of coming home. It is so peaceful and beautiful. The house is just off the "main road" but this was generally very quiet. There was an hour or so on Sunday evening when the weekend visitors to St Martin Vesubie all seemed to go back to Nice at once! But other than that, the sense of peace was palpable. The views from the gardens and from much of the house windows are fantastic! You have many options for eating outside or inside so you can enjoy or escape from the sun at any time. Walking into the main house on a hot afternoon was like walking into a delicious cave. How does it stay so cool? As for facilities, there was everything you could possibly wish for. A perfectly equipped house. The gardens have been cared for with love and are idyllic. And the VIEWS! Straight ahead you have an uninterrupted view across a huge steep valley to a wall of tree-covered mountain. Looking left you can see the Vesubie valley sloping away in folds down towards the coast. Looking right you have that valley building to summits above you, It was an absolutely delightful 45 minute stroll into town from the house along a little back road that parallels the main road but out of sight and hearing of it. You can hear the roar of the river more clearly from that walk and the road is shady with trees, and very pretty. And St Martin Vesubie itself is a very pretty little town with lots of absolutely beautiful walking nearby. The owner was extremely helpful and very kind. I was sad to leave and would definitely come back and stay for longer at this house.

Authentic little apartment overlooking the river vesubie. Cosy yet fully appointed. The noise of the water passing below the property adds to the character.
