Great property. Spotlessly clean and well equipped. Thomas was a charming host.

  • Beautiful, peaceful, self contained property and garden with all we needed for a family holiday.

There was something for everyone with hammocks slung from shady trees for grown-ups, safe space to run for children (our youngest is 18 months old) a big garden table where we had all our meals amid gentle noises from sheep, chickens and ducks in the surrounding small-holding. It is its own little world. The older boys found games to play and were never bored. We hired extra bikes (near the pharmacie) so we could all explore Hourtin and shop early for our croissants, baguettes, meat, cheese etc. The expeditions along safe cycle paths were a great excitement. We drove to very pretty le Piquerot beach the other side of the lake (water very shallow and safe) and to the magnificent Atlantic coast just beyond the dunes. We could cycle to the pretty beach at Isle des enfants. Restaurant (Resto) de la Gare in Hourtin was good value, good food and child friendly. We are indebted to the kindness and helpfulness of Mme Digneau. Her house has everything we needed. We would like to visit again, Brexit permitting.
