Make a holiday rental villa or apartment in Hauts-de-Seine, France your home away from home

The Hauts-de-Seine department of France is one of the smallest departments, forming the western part of the Ile-de-France. Together with the departments of Seine-Saint-Denis and Val-de-Marne, Hauts-de-Seine forms a complete ring around Paris, known as the Petite Couronne. The most recognised symbol of Hauts-de-Seine is the impressive Grande Arche de la Defense, and many visit the department from the centre of Paris for the excellent shopping and theatres. However, there is a more peaceful, natural side to Hauts-de-Seine, seemingly lifetimes away from Europe’s leading business centre, the woodlands and gardens of Vallee-aux-Loups.

Things to do in Hauts-de-Seine, France

The banks of the River Seine, from which the department takes its name, offer wonderfully peaceful days out. There are many beautiful footpaths along the river, where you can fish or walk in absolute peace. The large swathes of peaceful countryside offer perfect relief from the hustle and bustle of the urban part of the department.

The Hauts-de-Seine is a cultural hub of Paris, and also has some fantastic shopping streets to explore. The Musee National de le Caramique and the art instillations of the Arche de la Defense provide magnificent insights into the regions industrial and artistic past. The arch itself lies perfectly inline with the Champs Elysees, and seems to form a perfect reflection, although highly modern, to the Arc de Triomphe at the other end.

Of course, a holiday rental apartment in Hauts-de-Seine is a magnificent place from which to explore the best of Paris city centre. The internationally famous attractions of Paris draw visitors from all around the world, and there are a vast number to choose from. The iconic Eiffel Tower, the masterpieces of the Louvre and the famous Disneyland Paris are among the most popular.

Places to visit on holiday to Hauts-de-Seine, France

The commune of Chatenay-Malabry lies right on the southern outskirts of Paris. Somehow, Chatenay-Malabry manages to perfectly combine important parts if Paris’ infrastructure, whilst retaining a perfectly peaceful, natural feel, gaining it the nickname ‘Cite Jardins’ or the garden city. It is a fantastic base for exploring Paris, and the cycling routes and equestrian centres provide excellent access into the Vallee-aux-Loups.

Courbevoie is the most densely populated places in Europe, home to Paris’ business district, La Defense. Courbevoie is one of the liveliest, busiest parts of Paris, and the views from the top of the Arche de la Defese are quite staggering; if you are brave enough to take the glass bottomed lift to the top!

Cheap flights to Hauts-de-Seine, France

There are many ways to reach a holiday rental property in Hauts-de-Seine, as being the commercial and business centre of the city, links into the capital are exceptional. Whether you enter Paris at Charles-de-Gaulle Airport (CDG) or Orly (ORY), through the Channel Tunnel on the Eurostar or drive from one of the coastal ports, your access to an apartment in Hauts-de-Seine is unrestricted.

Cosy quiet place to stay in Paris

4 of 5
Three of us visited Paris to watch the Roland-Garros and found Florence's apartment a convenient spot to stay in. A short taxi ride to the tournament, the accommodation was a perfect space to stay for a couple of days. Florence was accommodating and friendly, even helping us with a brilliant recommendation of a pizza restaurant up the road (it was great!) as well as communicating clearly leading up to and throughout our stay. The accommodation was bright and cheerful and had everything that you would need for a short stay when exploring the city. Comfortable beds and clean throughout, the accommodation also had a lovely mini courtyard to relax in. Thank you Florence!

A brilliant base for a family holiday to Paris

5 of 5
We are gushing with praise for the wonderful holiday we had staying on the barge and exploring Paris. As a family we needed something to keep everyone happy and the easy access to the city and the seclusion and natural setting of the houseboat made a perfect combination. The interior space is lovely, decorated with quirky art and providing everything you need to live. The rooms are generous in size and well equipped. The weather was mixed during our stay and my children enjoyed playing the games and watching films when the rain kept us inside. The nearby supermarket has everything you need and the wonderful bakers is responsible for the extra pounds I'm now carrying! The unexpected pleasures were watching the boats pass, and all the nature about. The comings and goings of the heron, eyeing newly hatched ducklings, and the big fish swimming in the water. We used the mainline train into Montparnasse which was a 10 minute walk away. The trains were at least every fifteen minutes and the journey was about 12 minutes. A return ticket for all day transport is 9 Euros. I am a relatively inexperienced traveller and this was easy. We would definitely stay here again. The owner was super helpful and a great communicator and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this experience of Paris.
