A comfortable base for exploring the Auvergne.

5 of 5
Set in a tiny hamlet (Belmont), part of a very small commune, the house is lovely, the neighbours (and their dogs) are friendly, and the equally lovely owner is the local mayor! Spotlessly clean, warm, and although for me a log fire and a really comfortable armchair would be a bonus, a wonderful base for exploring this part of the beautiful Auvergne. We managed to fit in the "Train Panoramique" up the Puy de Dome on the way there, and Volcanic lakes and cable cars on the way back. Do not miss the gorges of the Allier. We hope to return. One word of caution - it does help to have some French! Many thanks to Agnès for her warm welcome.

Beautiful and spacious house with incredible view over Le Puy en Velay!!

5 of 5
Spent a wonderful and relaxing week in the house and in the surrounding area of Le Puy en Velay. Well furnished and spacious house with amazing view over one of the most picturesque city in France. 3 familiies with 8 children (age 2-12) and plenty of space for every one. Well equipped kitchen and good dining area both indoor and outdoor. Jean Francois was a good host and shared good information about local attractions and "gourmet" traders.
