Lovely quiet location

4 of 5
We spent a week in this quiet gite in a hamlet 20km from Puy. The location is perfect for cycling the hills of Haute Loire, walking and relaxing. The owner is very welcoming and helpful. She does not speak English. There is access to a washing machine. Some advice: There is very limited bedding and no towels. Take everything with you, including pillows. There are duvets available. The kitchen is one of the best we have seen, with a dishwasher and a large fridge freezer but there isn't much cleaning equipment so cloths, liquid etc should be taken. Also the kitchen knifes are quite blunt so take your own or a steel. The parking is down a narrow grassy lane behind the gite. Large or low cars won't make it. My Alfa with roof box and bike was fine. None of this detracted from the visit and it's a great location.

A relaxing, quiet away from it all property

5 of 5
We arrived at the door of our gite and were welcomed by the lovely, friendly owners. We were shown around and were told that if we needed anything then we only had to ask. The property was lovely and clean, had all the amenities we could have asked for and more and the setting couldn't have been more perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Gite Estaou Treillo to the point that we could have easily stayed for a further week. We have stayed in many gites in France over the years and have always had lovely experiences in them all but we both thought that our hosts made our holiday, they were both very welcoming, they went that extra mile, and nothing was too much trouble. Even to the point of inviting us around for dinner on our last night to sample a typical French meal, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We would definitely love to return to the gite and the area again...............they were both beautiful.
