Very cozy cottage in a remote area 90 minutes north of Paris.

5 of 5
The location is ideal if one wants to be isolated and a quiet hillside area. One must have a car and a bit of French would be helpful to get around the local shops, all of which are 4 KM to 7 KM away. The cottage is really quite large with a master bedroom and ensuite bath on the first floor, a nice bedroom with double bed and another bedroom with twin beds up. Bath tub and WC are shared upstairs. A sitting area up has a single bed and floor mats, which would accommodate young children. The kitchen is very well equipped with all one needs. Plenty of dishes, cutlery and glassware. Nice fireplace for the winter lodgers. Excellent small garden with a rudimentary grill pit in the rear. The owner is very nice and his local caretaker is very helpful. We had a great stay!

Very comfortable stay for a group of friends

4 of 5
We enjoyed our stay in spacious accommodation which was modern, comfortable and easy to use. Six people had plenty of room and all the facilities we needed. The house and garden were charming and the owners did their best to help and make us feel at home. The rental matched its enticing photos and the advertised features. It was clean and bright. We would certainly be pleased to return if we come to the area again. A week was not enough to visit all the area's attractions. We visited Soissons and Laon and many smaller places nearby, for historical sites, markets and country walks, but never made it to champagne country. One small addition would have helped; brief notes of domestic information and where the local necessities were; oven instructions, location of bins, shop, boulangerie, etc. with directions in English. We took a little time to find out. But the place made the holiday great fun.

Wonderful large family house with pool

5 of 5
Wonderful unique house. Great facilities, fantastic town location. Easy reach of Somme war circuit and also champagne region. Comfortable beds, safe covered pool, luxury living for a week or even short break - owners are very helpful and flexible. It helps if you can speak some French in this area. Highly recommended as a great place for a large family party. Plenty of loos and bathrooms. St quentin is a nice small town with shopping, culture, activities and bars within 5-10 mins walking distance of house. Tennis in Park across road too.
